I'm going back to my Blackberry

I have given the DInc 200% and I just canNOT get to like it. I can't tell you how many text's I have sent out with words I didn't put, which, yes, I DO know how to stop that. I hate having to constantly back up to correct words. I typed one of my friends that a picture she sent me, she looked "purdy" and my phone put in "puffy" instead and I STILL don't think she believed my explanation when I blamed my phone.
I can't get used to constantly worrying if I have enough battery to go hiking or somewhere theres no electricity, for the day. I bump charge, turn what few apps I've downloaded off and all the other suggestions which do give me a little better battery usage, but not enough.
I hate having to constantly clean my screen off due to fingerprints, even tho my hands are clean.
I don't like androids FB app., which means I have to go thru several screens just to check my FB out.
I'm really upset with myself because I was one of those up EARLY in line to get the phone. My kids have the DX, which is a fantastic beautiful phone, but I can't fork out more $$ on my early upgrade.
SOOO, I'm going back to my dependable Blackberry.
I also know about the Droid Pro coming out which is Blackberry-ish, but again, there's alot of the Android ways I just don't like. But that's OK!
Anyways...I'm headed over to Crackberry. again.

Its a choice, there are always choices. Have fun back at crackberry, I'm sure I'll see you over there, I still carry a BB as well. I enjoy my Incredible, I carry an extra battery for those times that I am going to be away from electricity and I do spend a lot of time begging forgiveness for my typo's .

I don't have a "specific" reason for going back BB, but a cumulation of several. OH and my fingers aren't big BUT i KEEP mistyping words.
As I was thinking about what to do, another thing that came to mind is I definitely do NOT like having to use two hands with the Dinc. I like turning my phone back on, checking my msgs, replying...all one handed. Sounds dumb, but little quirks add up. Since the keyboard is raised up on a BB, I don't even have to look.
Anyways, I just added this thread in case others, however small, may feel the same!

LMAO! I've been using bberry's since 2002, because they were issued by work, and am so glad to ditch them. Try using the bberry browser for something useful. All apps on bberry are like 3 years behind state of the art. The physical keyboard is the only benefit, but you can get that on an android phone too. G'luck.

Yeah some people just don't like Android or Touch Screens .
I personally hated every minute with my Blackberry 8330 , I had a hard time typing on the keyboard , I hated having to use a trackball to navigate everything . I can type faster on a touch screen then an actual keyboard

But to that I know a lot of people who absolutly love there Blackberry Curves . It's all prefrence .
Just like people love the Samsung Fascinate , I have it also and I don't like it at all . Most people liked the Droid more then the Eris , I returned my Droid for an Eris and never looked back .

Nobody shoudl really bash the OP as there was no blind bashing of the phone just stating what they didn't like about the phone . Android and the Incredible aren't for everyone

I was wondering why people still by BBs.
I had the curve, then the storm and now the Dinc.

I've had several blackberries and now have my Incredible. I can understand not liking the touch screen keyboard, but going back to Blackberry is like going back to black and white TVs...

Might want to wait for the Merge to come out before going back to BB's.

I still like BB, yes its behind the curve in many areas but if your phones main function is talk/txt/email then a BB is a very fine tool. So good luck to the OP, if nothing else the Dinc should fetch a decent sum on ebay for ya!

Did you try using some different keyboards? They might work better for you.

(don't really care if you like the Incredible or not, but I'm just saying one of the best things about android is you can customize everything)

Isn't there an apk for the X keyboard for Incredible? If the X is such a wonderful phone and the keyboard is such a huge issue, wouldn't this be a smart option.

I went from Curve to Incredible and was frightened of touch screen. I am clumsy and have sausage fingers..... yet with swype and smart keyboard, I am more accurate than with my curve.

Good luck returning to Blackberry. I can't understand it but enjoy.

Also, I don't understand the reason to post this. last person who postefd something similar said to "inspire others" to change. This person added it in case others felt the same. Not really sure what good this does UNLESS the OP isn't sure of his/her choice and is looking for answers.

I use to have the DroidX keyboard it's definetly better then the htc or stock android keyboard IMO but I like "Better Keyboard" the best .

The one thing I like about my Fascinate is with the same keyboard as my Incredible it's much easier and faster then the Incredible for typing but it's mainly because of the larger screen I also notice this on the EVO it's very easy to type on the bigger screen

The issue is not the keyboard but the dictionary. Since you're using words like "purdy" which isnt in the English language except for slang, the keyboard auto-corrects it. Just add it to the dictionary and you can have any word you spelled on there, or just turn off auto-correction. Problem solved.

As for the touch screen... all I can say is that I would have tested out the phone before you bought it. There is a demo version in every Verizon store for a reason.

I have used a couple BBs and think the interface is not near as good, but if you like it go ahead! Also, what BB did you have that gets better battery life then an Incredible? I know I get way better life than a Curve 8530.

Actually, some of the OPs points are valid and I can understand where they're coming from. A little background before I continue...

I've been using smartphones since VzW has offered them: Palm OS, Windows CE, Windows Mobile, now Android and BlackBerry (haven't tried a WebOS device yet) -- Quick2Net, 1XRTT, EVDO... I'd consider myself fairly knowledgable about the advantages and disadvantages of various platforms and what suits individual users (key point).

Nowadays, I have my Incredible and I have a BB Bold (working for a cellular carrier has it's advantage$). I actually got into BlackBerry because doing technical support, it's part of my job to support them and I had no prior experience. I like to master my crafts so I added a line and started using it as my primary phone so I could become intimately familiar with its operation and troubleshooting common challenges. Enough back story...

As an overall platform, I feel Android is at the top. It's flexible, customizable, and has a lot of knowledgable support. For users who expect more out of a phone than basic voice communication, Android devices fit the bill nicely.

However, after also using a BlackBerry for the last several months, I completely understand why they have such a following. They make for a much better *phone* in terms of consistent call quality and signal, as well as battery life. The push system is excellent for users who rely on receiving their e-mails and application notifications, timely (i.e. as soon as the message is received). It also appears to help battery life by reducing the need to check the server for new messages (in most cases).

I've always felt the biggest thing that people forget is everyone is an individual and has different requirements. Some users don't need 3rd party applications and simply need a communication device, which BlackBerry devices excel at. Others do want more functionality from their devices and Android and iOS fit that bill. It's all a matter of needs and wants.

Personally, I have an upgrade path in mind. Android definitely offers a better overall user experience but battery life with most devices is just horrible. BlackBerrys are rock solid phones that handle e-mail and IM efficiently. As 4G rolls out (living in Houston has its advantages, also), I plan on rolling with BlackBerry for my phone and e-mail needs and an Android tablet for everything else.

That^ While i agree the auto-correct is on crack sometimes when you are using slang words like 'purdy' your dictionary of course isn't gonna know what your trying to say. Switch off xt9 and add the word to the dictionary. At least that part of the problem is solved

Thank you Big Calhoun. My communication skills are pitiful.
Since cranking my BB back up, I still carry my Incredible around for Angry Birds (totally addicted) and for the camera/camcorder. My daughter is in the Coast Guard and I'm always sending her pics from home and video. BB wasn't really designed for photo quality. I can send her HD videos of the family that are amazing for a cell phone.
Anyways, I too carry both phones. I'm just really thankful we have WiFi now so that we can find a happy medium with our own unique needs!
