Help Email-Please help!!

Can i delete email on my Evo so that it does not delete it on my laptop. i have looked everywhere on this phone and cannot find a setting to do this.

I do not believe this is possible because the email is on sync basis so when you open the mail application it is just like opening your mailbox if you delete it from there it is gone.

What program do you use on your pc or do you go straight to the website of the email host.

Are you using Gmail or something else?

It depends what kind of email you are using. If you are using gmail, no, everything you delete on teh phone will also delete on the pc. If you are using exchange email, it is possible.

I have a question related to this. It has happened to me a few times now. When I delete the emails on my phone (gmail acct), it will not delete them on the computer. 95% of the time it works like it should. Sometimes I will go days without logging into my account on an actual computer and end up having TONS of new email. The whole time I thought I was keeping it cleaned up through my phone.

Ive cleared data/cache hoping it would help. I dont know how I fixed the problem last time. I want to say it just started working.

Edit- Just cleared data again, and now its working. This happened after I switched kernals on my rooted EVO. So Im assuming the problem was related somehow. All is now good though.

You are using the Gmail app, and not the Mail app, correct?

Correct. Ive been rooted since I got the phone just weeks after its release. Ive switched ROMs/Kernals probably 30 times. This issue has only popped up maybe 2-3 times. Clearing data has always worked for me, but didnt this last time. I tried to clear it again after making that post, and of course its now working :lol:

Are you using the Gmail app, or Yahoo or Exchange with ActiveSync? If so, then no. That's the point of using the Gmail app or ActiveSync.

However, you can use the Mail app and set Gmail (and other services) to use POP instead which just downloads a copy of your mail: Enabling POP - Gmail Help

If you have Exchange, check with the Administrator to see if POP is available.
