New Phone = New Warranty?

If you get a phone from Verizon, (a Droid to be specific), and in like 6 months it breaks, since its still under warranty, Verizon would replace the phone. So if you get a new phone, does your 1 year warranty for the phone start over? since it's a completely different phone?

Thanks :)

The claim would be $89 and it would most probably be a refurbished device through Asurion as well. Also a warranty claim does have either the remainder of the 1 year manufacture warranty or 90 days from replacement, which ever is longer. ie:If the phone is replaced 11 months after purchase for a manufacture defect, you would have a 90 day warranty on replacement phone.

nope, not even if they give you a brand new phone on the last day of your warranty. your warranty starts from the date of original purchase.

Not quite true. Actually, it's 90 days or the remainder of the original 1 year warranty (doesn't matter if you have the Extended Warranty), whichever is longer.

Also, if you get a "brand new phone" that does indeed come with its own new warranty. CLNR (Certified-Like-New-Replacement) or FRU (Field Replacement Unit) phones are not brand new.
