Android Keyboard Interface 8pen Makes Swype Look Like a Breeze

For those who actually have used 8pen for a while, do you truly think it's faster than Swype?

I just can't see how it could be faster than swype.

In 8pen you have to swipe one direction, and then around in a partial circle to get one letter. In Swype, that's a whole word.


I'm not trying to knock it. It's innovative, and it's nice to be able to text without looking at the phone, but I have a hard time believing it is faster than Swype.

I LOVE SpoofApp. My favorite app for my Android phone fo sho. The voice changer + the call recorder is the best thing ever. I prank my friends (and enemies) all the time with the app and there's no way they can tell its me. Then you have the recording of the call too! I started sharing the really funny ass ones on my Facebook. haha.

I would have to say my top 3 apps would be the YouTube app, iTag and Music Box. I love youtube because it of course allows me to watch and view my channel on the go. Music Box is a GREAT mp3 download app, I don't use my desktop to download music any more, its all done on my Evo. Lastly I've grown to like iTag because it works with music box/stock music player. I hate when my music has incorrect tags and album art work so iTag helps me correct those messy tags.

Hello. I just got my first HTC EVO and clearly I have much to learn. I do like this barcode reader app that I have been hearing of. There are many out there. Which one should I get. I would use it for mostly electronics.

to me the main appeal of 8pen is the single refrance point and not having to look at the keyboard to type anymore and when you know where all the letters are yes i do believe it is as fast or maybe even faster then swype and this is coming from someone who has used swype from the beginning and 8pen as well

Tough to just pick one...

Launcher Pro would have to be at the top.

Tasker and Pandora would be a very close second. But things like Folder Organizer and Pure Calendar are pretty handy too. I suppose it just depends on what I need at the moment.

+1 for folder organizer. i use folders on my home screens extensively for apps, direct dials, contacts, bookmarks, etc... i was frustrated that you couldn't easily change the order of the items within the folder. folder organizer allows you to rearrange the order that they are presented in the folder. so convenient. also, it has a cool widget that shows the "most contacted" people and lets you click on them to call, text, or whatever.

i prefer adw.launcher to launcher pro. liked launcher pro a lot, but it force closed all the time. not a huge problem because it reloads so fast. however, adw.launcher hasn't fc'ed once yet and pretty much has all the same functionality.
