amazon is having a sale on incredible handsets, just $.01 with 2 year contract, plus free activation from verizon, through november 29th. i ordered one today for my husband, after talking to verizon about how to make my contract over into a family contract after getting the handset from amazon. when you sign up, you just pick any plan and then when the phone comes, just call verizon back and fix the plan. anyhow, there's a catch...if you discontinue early (before 181 days), you have to pay amazon $250, on top of any verizon charges. and the units are backordered. my order said delivery on january 6th. we don't care, though, his current phone is fine, but he wants to upgrade both his phone and service (he has sprint now, it blows).

anyhow, in case anyone wants to extend their incredible family. :)

They're free on Wirefly, also with free activation. :)

whoa. i just called wirefly to check if they had them in stock (they do). then i called amazon to see about cancelling my order and going with wirefly. the difference in customer service was so stark i am sticking with amazon, even with the 2 week backorder (he says they are overestimating the ship date, it should ship in 2 weeks). the woman at wirefly was a sales bot who was desperate to keep me on the phone and get me into a contract, and the guy at amazon was professional, knowledgeable, easy going, and happy to cancel the order if i wanted. i'd much rather have access to a human if i have a problem with the order or the phone. i bought a moto droid last year from dell mobility, another cheapy online phone place, and it was a true nightmare dealing with them. wirefly gives me the same feel. thanks for the info, but i think i'll wait for my phone from amazon. :)

I ordered a BlackBerry 8330 from Wirefly a few years back and everything turned out great; I even got my mail-in rebate on time with no hassle. They're a pretty reputable company, in my opinion. But, bottom line, if you're not comfortable, don't do it. :)

I used wirefly for two Incredibles and it was flawless. I know of five or six friends that used them too, with good results. Recently a co-worker experienced some customer service/activation problems but I contacted someone on their behalf and they took care of everything in a matter of minutes.

Highly recommend! (pay attention to their "rules" though. you can't switch phone lines for a few months or they'll nail you with charges)
