Im thinking of buying my brother a X10 but i have a few questions to ask first. I currently have a HTC desire so i prefer android phones now.

1. I see that its possible to root the phone but there does not seem to be much ROMS available. Is there any reason for this?

2. The main reason i wanted to root and change ROM was to install A2SD but the X10 has much higher internal memory at 1GB. But can i still install A2SD+?

3. I see that you can officially get the 2.1 update now, but are there any custom 2.2 ROMS available?

cheers

Why you would want to leave the DESIRE for the X10 is something I cannot imagine. But since you will not be stuck in the 1.6 world, the phone is a rather good choice, providing you do not need Multi-Touch to play games. Beware that if you do buy the phone and then root the phone, you will be VOIDING your warranty. Something to consider when you purchase a new phone.

Good Luck and a future Welcome to the x10 forum..

X10iUser answers all the questions but i can add to this one

Surfing the XDA forums (were all cracks and hacks on Android are) and they said that the X10 Os was definitly the hardest handset to crack in, we had to wait a few months after lauch to have root access... custom roms just started to pop out since the deployment of 2.1
