Do I have a problem?

I have broken about 4 controllers in the past 3 ish years? I am sure some people would say 1 is too many.. but seriously does anyone else get pissed and toss their controller? I think I get way to competitive sometimes....

Is there a difference between actual rage and just being competitive tho? I dont like start cursing and get uncontrollable. I just toss the controller and stop playing. The girl that was sitting with me told me I need to "tone it down" tho and I was confused cause I was not ready to kill someone or anything, I was just fed up with it.

I believe there is a difference. Whether or not I am right is a completely different story. In my personal opinion, competitive nature would be to just call it quits and let bygones be bygones but throwing the controller just shows that you let your anger (or rage) take control.

this.

and you are likely a sore loser and bad sport also. one can be very competetive and not be a penis.

 I have played organized sports my whole life and I am actually pretty easy going when I am beat cause I understand there will always be someone better then I am at any given activity.

As far as gaming goes I am the guy that sends "GG" mail to people win or lose if it was a good match.

I think the only time I have actually lost my cool to a point where I was ashamed was playing lacrosse and the guy intentionally shot a ball at me which resulted in a fight.

man the way they make games these days you shouldnt be raging...yeah some of the old nes/snes games were rage worthy...now days theres a continue point like every 5 steps. the good thing is back in the day the controllers were impossible to break....tried many times.

just think of all the people that broke their brand new flat screens when the wii first came out....could be worse than just breaking the controller. would you feel like more of jackoff breaking your tv raging or just being too weak to hold the controller? rofl

Not for nothing but your post itself was penis worthy. Nothing you said was constructive criticism in the least bit.

I used to lose my cool while playing baseball when I was younger. A lot of times I'd walk back into the dugout after giving up a hit and be pissed off at myself for doing so. There were other times that I was just extremely happy to toss a 1-2-3 inning or rack up K's. All I know is that when I was on the mound, that was when I was at my place of zen.

It's hard to compare real life competition to virtual competition imo. They both can be equally as frustrating but I suppose it's how you deal with that stress which ultimately will define you as a gamer and an athlete.
