if iphone come to Verzion

Honestly yes if the iPhone comes to Verizon a small percentage of Android users will switch. A lot of people settled for Android because they wouldn't settle for a shitty network . So people will switch to iPhone that are on Verizon and people who are on At&T will switch to Verizon for an iphone as well.

my feeling of the iPhone being inferior is the same as mdram, but not everyone feels that way

will it hurt Verizon's flagship for motorla and htc smartphones sale ?

Verzion may be the next At&t with no flagship phone

Yes. Because consumers will have a choice between android, iPhone, RIM, Windows 7. So naturally some people will pick a iPhone over android, or a windows 7 over android, or a blackberry over android. It's no big deal.

It might be a big deal if Android had only one handset, but that's not the case.

honestly, no.
people that want the iphone will come for it

but now that people have tasted droid they wouldnt settle for an iphone, its too inferior imho

In a recent study(if I wasn't on mobile version, I'd find it), the majority of people that came from the iPhone to Android would go back to iPhone if it were available on a better network. I like Android, but iPhone is still king.

A lot of people settled for Android due to the network, but I would guess a fair number of them, myself included, find Android far superior to the iPhone and are glad that the iPhone wasn't available. You'll still have the ones who don't want the full customization capability that Android offers and simply want cute icons on a screen, or those who just can't wrap their brain around the limitless power Android gives them, and yes, some of those people may jump ship to the iPhone. There may be a slight tipping of the stats in the iPhone's favor at first. Overall, though, I think Android phones will still surpass the iPhone once things "balance out", kind of like a market correction.

100% agree. I couldn't even imagine going back to iPhone after having Android I'd miss so much ie .. True Multitasking, Widgets, Wireless Teather, and having to use Itunes again YUCK!!! I do wish my bank (Chase) would come out with an app for Android there iPhone app is awesome .

As much as I hate to admit it he is correct, while folks on this forum that switch might be few, the normal person still believes that the iPhone is the best. I have no idea why but that's how it is, people still buy bose speakers too so what ya gonna do? For the future of android, palm and WP7 I hope iPhone stays with ATT because well never beat the sheeple :(

I have talked to many customers who have owned iphones and moved over to verizon for a droid x or htc incredible. many of these people like the droid line better. And some people could care less about the droid and are still holding out for an iphone. And many are on the fence.

I think it is nice to have choices and I can assure you, as an apple user since the late 70s, I am just fine with my Droid.

I switched soley for the network because the ability not to make phone calls was affecting my career. I had no problem with the iPhone. It's a good phone. I would consider getting the Verizon iPhone, but it's not a slam dunk deal.

Verizon Android phones are in a bit of a lull- nothing really cool out recently. So I can wait.

If your droid is boring, you are boring :) Either that or you have no idea what to do with it except angry birds.

originally before the iphones launch they presented Verizon with the opportunity to be the exclusive carrier. But Jobs wanted too big of a cut and was respectfully declined. Well you can't have a supply without a buyer, so he want to at&t where at least he could make some money. Jobs being the genius he is(still dont support apple), still realizes he can make more money even with a smaller cut from verizon then with his present/recent contract with at&t. I think there will be an LTE iphone. I won't buy it, but it's gonna be a customer magnet....even pulling at&t customers.

I read an article yesterday that 51% of Verizon customers want an Iphone. 30% of Droid users would abandon it for an iphone. And 46% of AT&T customers would switch to Verizon for the iphone.

So yes the iphone will take a HUGE chunk out of the android market. In fact, if the iphone does come to Verizon I think that it may end up dominating the smartphone market similar to how the Ipod is basically the only mp3 player everyone buys. Do I like this idea? No, I love the android market. I just think it's a very real possibility.

Out of these people who say they want an Verizon iPhone, how many are eligible for the 2yr deal for phones? Since the Droid is just over a yr old, that means if you signed up for a Droid, like me, if you want a new iPhone, you will have to pay full price. We're talking at least $500, which is not a small chunk of change. And that 46% of AT&T users, I bet a majority of them are already iPhone users, so no big change there.

I'm not so sure it will take a big chunk out of the existing android market because of the high cost to switch. Apple is still missing out on Sprint and T-mo markets. Where Apple could cause trouble is in new smartphone users and people whose contracts have expired. Then there is also the question of 3G vs. 4G- it could be another EVO situation where you have to pay more for 4G, but the network isn't fully deployed so it's not a good value, esp. for people who live in a city without LTE.
