is it just me or are all the recent android "superphones" way over hyped? i'm late to become a n1 fan, only had my n1 for about 3 months and was hesitant to buy a phone that came out in january thinking i was buying old technology. however, all these newer phones have roughly the same processor speed and are minimally better than the n1 in one area or another, but inferior in other ways. not to mention, the n1 isn't burdened by any of the overlay software and gets all the updates first.

i'll give the galaxy s phones the only thing that seems to be truly an upgrade, a really nice screen. i have to admit the super amloed is amazing. however, those phones are plagued with so many other issues. had one and returned it before buying a used n1.

i guess i'm surprised that the n1 is coming up on its first birthday and still one of, if not the best android phone out there. i'm hoping this is the lull before the storm, because nothing on the market really impresses me and it would be nice to see a jump in android progress soon.

gotta love the marketing of some of these phones. you would think these phones will cook you breakfast every morning and take out the garbage for you! :D

It took everyone about 4-6 months to catch up to the N1. The Incredible (basically an N1 with a better digitizer and different housing and CDMA radio) came out 4 months after the N1, it took Apple another 2 months to release a 1 ghz phone. I also came late to the game, purchasing my N1 in May, but it must have been a great feeling for all the early N1 adopters to be running around with such a powerful phone. I think it will still be another 1-3 months before we see any phone with ground breaking technology (dual cores, better screens, better batteries, better GPU's).

On a side note and somewhat off topic. The Acer announcement yesterday made me super excited for android again. The Samsung Galaxy tablet is nice, don't get me wrong, but the specs of the new Acers makes me forget all about the Galaxy. I can see myself purchasing one of those if the price is right and it comes in a wifi version. Plus they will be running honeycomb (which is said to be tablet specific).

2011 is already shaping up to be a great year for android and technology, and the big push came from the N1, so be proud to own this phone.

One of these days in the not too distant future. I remember seeing video clips of this company that had the Android as the UI for its household machines. So you can program your dishwasher/laundry machines etc from your phone since they will all be connected to the internet.
Android, Android, Android, everywhere. Where will it end? (hopefully that's the right article. I can't seem to be able to load it)

You weren't THAT late with the AT&T model. I believe it came out in March.
