I've tried searching through the forum but still stumped.

I am trying to link my 1and1 email account with my x10 on orange.

Tried following all guides i can find but always says

"Set up could not finish Unable to open connection to server. "

Idiots guide please guys

Try this, go to the Market and download an app called "MAILDROID" and let it install. Than startup Maildroid from your phone and load up your email client and it should flow through without a hitch. If it doesn't for some weird reason, pop an email to the developer from the MARKET, explaining what is happening. He will get you fixed up in a jiffy! He has a really prompt reply time, so it will be answered guarantee!

Good Luck! Oh, and Welcome to the Forum!!

I am a total novice and dont even know what a subdomain is ?? I just wanted to be able to send and receive my emails through my phone. Phone manual makes out you just fill in a few details and hey presto all done.

When i tried to register google apps account what it wanted me to do to verify i own the domain was way beyond me. I didnt have a clue what they were asking me to do.

A mate set it up for me ages ago cause i needed an email i could access from any computer as no home pc for a period.

Probably dont need it if thats what your getting at. But had it ages now and want to keep same email address.

I'll just not bother trying to link it to my phone if that complicated i guess
