Is there a way i can group all my contacts to my Google account that are saved to phone.

I start saving them to phone instead of Google when giving the option, thinking i could just sync whenever i upgraded ROMS. I was wrong i lost some contacts, restoring older ROMS.

So for future references I will save to google, I just want to know if the current contacts now can be saved to Google grouped or i have to go in and do them individually.

Not sure from your phone, but you can go on your PC and input them manually into your Gmail contacts and they will always be there, I am sure someone will tell you how you can sync them from your phone back to your Gmail

Here is some info I found for you

C&P

I'm not sure if this is the answer to your problem but its something that took me a couple days to figure out.

Essentially the Hero can store 3 different types of contact, Phone, Google and Sim. The only contacts that will sync with Google are those saved with the Google type. Those saved as Phone or Sim won;t sync with google. Further more, there is no way of changing a contact from Phone or Sim to Google or vica versa, which personally I feel is a bit annoying.

What I'm guessing your problem is is that you have contacts saved as Phone contacts currently. The only way to sync them to google would be to grab a free contacts backup tool off the market place. This will save all your contacts as a CSV file on the SDCard. Take this and use the Gmail import options, this will put all your contacts and their info on Gmail. then you just have to go through the contacts and delete all the duplicates.

Once thats done just make sure you save all future contacts as Google contacts.

Hope all that helps

Guy

And something else here,

SOLUTION: Ok folks: I have a solution to this issue. This works for me and I hope it works for you too. Please let me know how you make out so we all can get this resolved. For me, when I setup my Hero , I followed the following procedure:

1) Import all contacts into Google (contacts...)
2) Synchronize from Hero Options menu
3) Any contact in Google shows up

When I add a "New" contact I do the following:

1) Create blank contact
2) Set the dropdown field called "Contact Type" to Google - this will set it for all future contacts you add to Google
3) Go ahead and add your contact data
4) Force a synchronize

This will synch any contact you've set with the "Contact Type" drop down to Google. Unfortunately, I have no solution for the contacts set to "Phone" - I find this to be an unfortunate oversight by either HTC or Android (Dev). But my solution works forever more. Please let me know by commenting if this helps or if I"m missing something.

Thank You!
