Help Why doesnt the desire hd boot up quick anymore??

Power off + Back on = Fast Boot
Reboot = 5 minutes sitting staring at the boot screen

I have to agree on this one also. Mine no longer boots fast, takes a couple of minutes. I have checked that the option for fast boot is on.
Seems that as I have watchdog 3g and advanced task killer.
That might be the issue, as it takes time to load them up at the start.

Know this is an old thread but though t it would be better resurrecting this than starting a new one.

My fast boot seems to have stopped working..... in some situations.

Fast Boot is definitely enabled, and I have no task killers, juice defenders or any app of that sort installed. When I shut down my phone and leave it for a couple of minutes, it will fast boot fine and be ready to use in seconds.

If I shut it down and leave it for a more substatial length of time (say an hour or more) it will take a few minutes to becomes useable.

Its not that I am constantly starting my phone but when it is switched off and I then want to use it, I want to do so in a hurry.

Any ideas?

Thats the idea.

If you turn your phone off and then two minutes later turn it back on it will fast boot. Since the phones just been turned off when you turn it back on it can quickly recover the SD data and other settings.

If its left for a longer period of time it will boot up normally and slowly.

It can get pretty annoying because the on/off button is very sensitive so sometimes i don't know if the phone is off or just sleeping, give it one touch and the bloody thing boots up again.

Who the hell turns their phone off and on every 2 minutes? If that is how it has been designed then its a useless feature!

I want to switch my phone off to save battery and should I need to use it I expect to be able to turn it on and it be ready within seconds - that was partly the reason I bought the DHD, because of this fast boot feature.

I think i may have got that wrong, or at least based on what just happened a second ago. Im the UK and ive had my phone off since 5pm yesterday. Its now 1pm the next day. I turned my phone on just a second ago and it quick booted so maybe it has nothing to do with time.

This is an absolute guess but maybe its to do with how long you hold the power button down? Hold it for longer and it will fast boot?
