After the ota update I went from getting full day battery life with pretty heavy usage to 10 hours. The update was supposed to improve battery life but it made it worse. I tried going a day without using home++ (home replacement app ) and my battery life went from 10 to roughly 36 hours!!! So if you are one of those people complaining about battery life after update like I was,and you are using this app try taking it off. :) hope this helps some ppl.

P.s. if it works try emailing the developer too fix because the app did not drain battery before the ota update

Not a typo...really 36 hours...I have had 3 replacement droids and they all gave me poor battery...but this one is great..I txt a lot use about 1hour on phone calls and use web for about an hour a day. Charge Monday night and won't charge again til wednsday morning...also home ++ didn't show heavy battery life usage if my settings maybe about 2% but seemed to have been killing my battery

Did you ever look at the battery usage before uninstalling Home++ ? I always find it weird that people just assume that something is using all the batt without checking. Not saying that you are but you didn't mention any percentages which makes me believe you never looked.

If you go to Settings -> About Phone -> Battery Use you can see exactly what is eating your power.

For example, my phone has been unplugged for 6 hours and Home++ used 4% of the batt. That is barely a ding.

Agreed. Home++ barely uses any of my battery. I can't imagine that it could possibly use a significant portion. OP, were you just assuming it was Home++, or did you confirm that this was actually eating battery power?

Yes I forgot to mention that it only used about 4 % but I just believe it was that because using home++ my phone was getting around 10 hours and now getting 36 again...I sure would have wished this wasn't true in my case but this is my experience

I am going to try putting home++ as my default again til battery drains and will get back to you guys on my battery life and percentages as of now with stock home app I had

42% voice calls. 2h 10m
25% display 2h 30m
10%phone idle 20h 1m
8% cell standby 22h 29m
5% android syste 21m
4% dolphon browser 15m
2% android core apps 6m
2% androoid os 5m

Battery life was 23h 10m (phone calls killed battery this time usual battery life in the 30's)

hmm this has actually been bugging me too. whether or not home++ is draining my battery. thought it was all in my head though. i'm going to try it for a day with home++ off and see what the real deal is. for me home++ also drains about 4% battery but i just have this feeling the battery life isn't what its supposed to be when its on. call me paranoid.

Did you remove all of your widgets from the default homescreen? This actually does help. What kind of battery life are you getting with what sort of use?

I also have Home++ installed and I'm having some battery life issues. I charged my phone and unplugged it right before i went to bed last night and when I woke up this morning my battery was down to 60%. Under my battery usage page it says "phone idle" has drained 18%. Why would I lose so much battery with the phone just sitting there not being used? I deleted all the widgets from my stock home screen. BTW I have 7 home screens with two widgets that update often as well as Beautiful Widgets Home.

Why would you complain about 10 hours of usage that's pretty good for a high powered smartphone. Plus I am a heavy web music user on my droid and get about 11 hours a day while having Home++ I just charge my phone when I'm sleeping every night that's pretty good habit to get into :) and task killer helps a lot with battery there's a bunch of other things running in background

yes all widgets and icons are removed from default homescreen. i listen to about an hr of music everyday total going to and from work. also browsing while doing so. chatting and email somewhat consistently throughout the day. end of the day is around 30% or so. which is the same as before the update. but if i'm off home++, if i remember correctly, i was getting about 50%-60% at end of the day, with about the same amount of usage.

i mean its not THAT bad for me like it is for others, but i did seem to notice better battery life when i wasn't using home++. only reason i'm using home++ really is for the smoother scrolling all around. currently have no apps that are draining battery, at least i don't think. and not running any widgets that need constant streaming updates or whatnot.

but i will do a test tomorrow with home++ off and see if it is indeed true.

36 hours?!?! You need to call cnet.com and allow them to write an article about the miracle Li-MH battery that you have in your phone. That is INSANE battery life that goes beyond anything any normal user is experiencing. Motorola quotes 270 hours of standby time, but those are all dependent on things like network configuration, signal strength, operating temperature, features selected, and voice, data and other application usage patterns. So, you must be in an area where signal strength doesn't fluctuate (3G<->1x), have nothing running on your phone and you're barely using your phone. The other factor is you just got a juiced battery, which is likely too. Not all batteries are created the same. I would like to know what apps you have on your phone, because I've been texting, IM'ing, gaming, downloading and backing up all day and I'm just about 9-10 hours out with 40% left, using various tactics to prolong battery life, while running Home++.

Lol really 36 hours...I wouldn't have any reason to lie...I have to many apps to name but I get 3g all the time in my area and never switch between 3g and 1x....main apps ii always use are handcent sms market, dolphin browser, advanced task killer, myspace, I music ebay and google voice...that's main ones...but I usually txt 80% of the time.and I do use the phone kind ofalot too..the display is usually on 2 and a half hours everytime i charge...so I am currently using home++ and will see if I g back to 10 hours

Oh and my widgets are beautiful widgets, picture frame, battery widget, and power control widget
