X10 battery overheating and now does not work?

Before i start writing just wanna say im a newby and not sure if something like this has already been posted?

I got my X10 about 3 months ago and have not really experienced any problems with it, i was rather bored one day and decided to check out the games which i played for a couple hours. I noticed that the battery was a little low so i put it on charge but the phone wouldnt hold any charge at all and the phone was jubbing out. The red LED light kept flashing and after a while it wouldnt switch on even if the charger was in it. I have not used my X10 for a couple of days now as it will not switch on? Is this a battery failure? It is not the charger as I have used it on my boyfriends phone and it works perfectly. I have also tried attaching it to the PC aswell, and still the X10 will not charge or hold charge.

Please help!!!! I think my beloved phone is broken!!!! ARGHHH!

If you took out the battery, reinserted it and restarted the phone but you got no response then your battery is probably dead.
Your best bet is to take it to Sony Ericsson's service center. But I don't think the battery is covered by the warranty.

Iv literally just got off the phone to O2 and they have also suggested getting a new battery and they are gonna send me one free of charge! I just didn't know if this was a common problem with X10's or not? But thank you for your help! Most appreciated XD

Ok finally have got my battery back for my X10 and it was purely cos my battery overheated... note to selves, do not play games on the x10...it shall overheat!!!! Thanks for the help D3sRtH4mmR

I do have this kind of problem and it worrie me a lot. When i do heavy use of the phone (usually to play games) the battery will heat up to 118F (48 celcius) wich is WAY over the recommended heat limit for the battery... and many times it just restart itself after 5 min of use unless i leet i cool down... lately i have issues of touch screen not working propely after massive heat. I have these issues only after 2.1 upgrade.

Hello. I am experiencing the same problem! On Saturday it just wouldn't charge, but I know that it did recognize the charger since the light turned green however later that changed when the battery was completely dead. I took it in to get it checked and got the battery replaced. At the store, it seem to take the charge. Used the phone through the day, plugged it in at night... NO CHARGE! I went back and tried a new battery since my only other option was to have it shipped to have it inspected and repaired and STILL no charge. Has anyone experienced this and is there any other solutions???? The cell phone company doesn't have any loaner phones available and don't really want to go 6-8 weeks without my phone. Please help!

There have been some reports of an issue with the USB socket in the phone breaking and therefore being unable to take a charge. If you are using the supplied cable and charger you could try using the PC to see if its recognised and takes a charge or is at least seen by the PC, if it doesn't then it sounds like th USB socket and will need a professional repair.
