I'm trying to get the best out my phone like everyone else, and I'm trying to make it the fastest possible rooted as it can be. I don't really know about installing new kernels and roms but I have a rooted fascinate with lagfix and minfreemanager. Is there anything else I should be running on here to make it smooth and quick?

If you have one click lag fix from the market, remove lagfix and ext2 files and delete that app. Download odin, then push clockwork recovery throigh odin. Then MAKE A BACK UP IN CLOCKWORK. Trust me this is important. Make a back up. Then download rom manager from market. Follow the sticky at begining of the all things root forum. Itss rather simple. You need odin on your computer. Odin will help you unbrick should that ever happen. There are plenty of people lurkin on here most times of the day. If you ever need help, just post it.

Yeah definitely ditch the market lagfix....it does nothing.

You will have to install the Samsung drivers on your computer and push clockwork recovery from the Odin program.

Once you have that done I'm sure we can get you going with a decent rom/kernel combo.

See the root sticky above for the clockwork link which should also link to the Samsung drivers.

You can do 1.2ghz, ive had it for a couple of months and it works great. But, the overclocked kernels have gone out of fashion for some time now. Allegedly there were faster kernels made with software improvements at the stock clock speed. Search for stupidfast kernels. JTs superclean ROM in rom manager gets rid of a lot of bloat and that might help too.

yeah the "old" overclock kernels are fast however they dont contain the latest code and optimizations....therefore its like a speeded up version of a worse kernel then more recent ones :)

Haha thanks...does anyone have any recommendations? Just trying to get it speedy and smooth at the same time.

yup the rom manager kernels are good, for DI01

Just installed a new theme with the instructions...looks great on the phone :p

welcome to the club :)

These are all Derks kernals, i use the d012-SV1200 for me. use setcpu to set to

1200 / performance.

yup those are dirrks last gift to the fascinate community (or seems like it anyway)

but again remember they are 1200mhz but less optmized code both in the base kernel and in the older version of voodoo...and meant for DI01 (which is fine if thats what you are using) :)

Which one are you currently using?
Do you like/love it?
Any links for it? haha

currently im on the dj05 leak with voodoo5 11/28 version.

to get all of that you gotta join irc #samsung-fascinate...you will be directed from there.

installing dj05 does involve flashing your a new radio with odin though...but its not a complicated process
