I was browsing for dealer for DHD and came across this site:

BUY2GET1:Apple iPhone 4G 32GB - $250,HTC Desire HD-$260 and : Sculpture forum

There are couple more forums where he has posted the topic and if you google this, it shows you many forums with the same post.

The person has a skype account and I chatted with him.

Asked him "How is the phones so cheap at your site?" and he replied "Coz its a xmas sale and year end sale".

The person is based in UK and gave all the bank details for wiring the money and Western union details.

Min order is 2 phones of any models, as long as there is two pieces.

Can some one in UK or anyone verify if this person is fake or true.

I feel its kinda a scam.

Correct me if I am wrong.

i don't want to say which one it is as they might edit their postings.

If it's too good to be true then it usually is.

Well, I chatted on skype with the person and asked him for details for wiring.
This is what was provided:

listen, I was browsing for the DHD the other day too and I saw the same prices listed in the same format and everything, but different website !
This guy must run a few websites.

I had a friend who knows his stuff trying to track the owner of the website and it was all blocked.

Anyway, it reeks of a scam big time.

Isn't Paypal is only protected if the funds can be retrieved from the other persons account. I've heard many people not able to get money back as the seller has closed their account.

Either way, sounds like a complete Scam. Western Union is used all the time by scammers.

Not sure about that. I think you are protected if you specify your credit card in Paypal, rather than specifying a Debit Card. That way you can go through your Credit Card provider to get your money back no matter what.

And I've heard of another follow-on scam: they ask you to email them a copy of your Western Union form to prove you've paid, and they can then often get enough personal info about you from the form to get access to your finances.

This is obviously a scam, and I would steer clear.

But there is a chance this is genuine. I'm actually UK based, so if you like, I can go to Peterborough (it's not far), and give him cash for it. Then I can send the phone out to you!

I see the paper he sent me and as I'm a graphic and web designer I noticed the color of the logos and quality and doubt the truth of this paper

ooh one last thing he called me using internet or voip program that I get an unknown called id and when I was talking to him I noticed his english is so bad that I can't understand and I hears some chickens around him

I really think he is from asia or turkey or whatever

1. There is a company of that name, at that address and with that registration number listed at Companies House, so the company does officially exist. Not that that means it's honest of course! Nor that the person you spoke with is, or has ever been, based in the UK.

2. The company was incorporated on 27/11/2009.

3. All of the UPS shipping numbers are over a year old and are dated before the incorporation of the company. Also, several show ground delivery to USA addresses rather than international delivery. The tracking info doesn't show what was shipped - the numbers could be tracking numbers for party balloon deliveries for all we know.

4. The Metropolitan Police would never put their name to this kind of "I'm honest, honest I am" home-made certificate. And saying Metropolitan Police London is rather like calling the Thames the Thames River London in that there is only one Metropolitan Police and I've never heard them add their location to this. Not that it even says "Metropolitan Police London", it says "Metropolitan Police Lon...".

I've never heard of a police force allowing their name to be used as a guarantee that a business is reputable and the overall layout of the certificate is suspect, as is the language used in the email.
