Help Bluetooth, voice calling, visual voicemail?

I am joining the Captivate crowd. Currently browsing deals (frustratingly, most won't allow me to choose the small plan I require).

I read a few places that you can't use voice command/control when the phone is on bluetooth. Has there been any change to this since it was first released?

My car stereo is equipped to use a phone via bluetooth, with a microphone mounted by the rear view mirror. I live for this at times, but voice dialing would be 10x more helpful than scrolling through contacts on the stereo screen.

Also, I'd love to know if you can legitimately get visual voicemail without paying a monthly fee? At least for now, I want to keep the phone legit and not mess with warranty, etc.

I'm obviously asking for a brand new phone - as of right now, not "well, when it was released x, y, z" as I think sometimes things change quickly with phones. THANK YOU!!!

The Captivate FAQ, mentioned constantly throughout this forum and threads, has your answer:

In short: yes.

Vlingo would work perfectly for you. Give it a try.

Better than Voice Commands.

In addition to the usual Call so-and-so, open that, it can read your emails and SMS out loud to you.

I had some fun with it the other day and asked it non-phone related questions, like "How many world series have the Red Sox won" (it replied with 6, I think). I then asked it how many WS have the Yankees won, distressingly, it replied 27 :( I asked about which was the last Triple Crown winner, it answered then added the other two recent winners.

It was fun!

I activated my Google Voice voicemail on my new AT&T Captivate. As other users have mentioned, I had to go to the Google Voice website to do it. The install of the Google Voice Android app said it would do it but it didn't.

Anyway, here's my question. When someone calls the mobile #, it seems that the call is forwarded to my Google Voice # which rings the mobile # and my home #. This is really irritating to my wife.

Can I make this go directly to Google Voice's voicemail without affecting the function for other callers?
