I Have a Ford focus with in built bluetooth.
My phone successfully pairs with the car. I can receive & make calls using the car bluetooth via my phone.

However it does not play any music through the car speakers. When I try to play music in my phone I get a notification 'music playing through bluetooth headset' but I do not hear anything..I kept the phone volume at max.:( Pressed the 'AUX' button on the car but no volume could be heard..

Am I missing something? Please help-thanks

The sound from the phone itself uses the handsfree BT profile. The sound from the music player uses the A2DP BT profile, which allows higher quality stereo streaming. Your Hero uses both profiles. But whether you can pick them up depends how good the BT is on your car. Does it just have handsfree BT for the phone or does it also have A2DP profile for music? Most built in BT only has handsfree.

Thanks, It does have A2DP profile for music. Do i need to download anything on my phone for it?

On my car (a Hyundai) I have to change the radio to a specific 'mode' before it will play music from my phone, unlike phone calls which happen without my doing anything.
Try rotating through different modes on the car stereo to see if you can find your music.

For Ford there is a AUX mode which plays media when connected through an external music/phone device. I have tried keeping the AUX mode but no sound!!

I have a diferent sort of problem to this. I have a new ford fiesta and my HTC hero pairs OK with it and it will also play music via bluetooth. I don't use this as I have the USB option on my car and I use my Ipod.

However I cannot hear any voice instructions under sat nav (both Google Navigator and Co Pilot) as it is sending these to bluetooth and I am on the Aux/Ipod.

I can get it to work momentarily by unticking the "Use for media audio" in the Ford Audio bluetooth options but the tick soon appears again after a few seconds and my sound is gone.

Has anyone any ideas?
