You used the wrong thread. Booting stock recovery does a data wipe on your phone. Sorry I was at the park with kids that day and couldn't help much.

Directions to give me what i need are.

You need a rooted phone 1st.

You can either use adb or terminal enumlator app from market.

from adb shell or terminal on phone
Code:
su

cat proc/mtd
verifiy that mtd2 is named recovery.

assuming that recovery is mtd2 on shine plus as it is on ally:

Code:
dd if=/dev/mtd/mtd2 of=/sdcard/recovery-dump-shine.img bs=4096
if its mtd1 or mtd3 then change the dev/mtd/mtd2 part above to the correct partition

you will now see a file called recovery-dump-shine.img on your sdcard.

Please upload that for me as thats all I need and if followed exactly will do nothing but dump a copy of your stock recovery to sdcard and nothing else. Sfter you upload the dump for me I'll build the shine plus a recovery to allow it to have custom roms. If you want a velocity port you will need a custom recovery first to be able to flash it.

Hi guys,

I'm dsixda from xda-developers. I just got an LG Shine Plus as a secondary phone for my vacation.

Here's the recovery.img and boot.img for getitnowmarketing to try:
shine_recovery_boot.zip

Looking forward to a custom recovery image :)
