Root Is anyone else having a problem with ADW?

Are you overclocked much? What about background apps? I was running ADW for a little before going to Launcher Pro ( and then Launcher Pro Plus ) and it seem like it was more of an issue with ADW having a conflict with something else. If it's just a bug with ADW, I'm sure the developers will get something out, make sure they know.

Not sure what the fix is...maybe reflash, clear the caches, repartition, the whole 9-yards.

No problems with KaosFroyo v37 w/ ADW. Solid, fast, comfortable. Several times I've thought about jumping the fence to where the grass looks greener, but how can it get better than perfect? ADW works like a charm, so if there's an update, I'll avoid it.

In fact, I'll probably keep this Eris as-is until it begins to rust.

that's how it was running with mine until this last update. FC means force close, the app freezes.

they just did another update though and it seems fine now so I'm hoping that's all it was :)

Is anyone else having FC's since the new ADW update? It's driving me nuts, is there anything to fix it or is it just me?

I really like this launcher and it's worked great up until I downloaded the update this morning...can I undo that?
Thanks

Are you using a Froyo ROM? If so, then using

Settings -> Applications -> Manage applications -> ADW Launcher

should present a "Uninstall updates" option, no?

If not, then your only option is to:

- backup your ADW settings and home page layouts
- make a nandroid backup of the current ROM.
- restore a prior Nandroid backup containing the older version of ADW
- copy the .apk for ADW to your SD card.
- restore the new Nandroid backup.
- uninstall ADW.
- install the ADW .apk from the SD card with a file manager (e.g. Estrongs)
- start ADW, restore settings & layout, fix widgets.

Seems like if the first method works, that would be easiest. I've never used that Froyo feature; perhaps you should make a nandroid backup before you start just to be safe.

Let us know how it went.

PS I've used ADW for months - never once a single problem. Just goes to show ya... wait, I don't know what that means ;)
