had the phone for over a week now, still getting used to it, but my battery issues may have pushed me over the edge. Ive been reading for the last few days on ways to help improve batter life, but not having much luck, below is a summary of what ive done.

So far ive drained the batter a few times, maybe 1 time to 0 and 2 other times to under 10 percent

I do nto have wife, bluetooth or gps enabled at all, settings managed through locale which I just downlaoded last night

ive only installed a few apps so far, weatherbug, locale, shopsavvy, google goggles adn texas holdem

Ive reduced brightness, and phone goes to idle mode after 1 minute of non usage

today, I got only 7 hours of batter life out of it

did some internet surfing, played texas holdem for about 30 minutes, checked facebook a dozen times or so, sent some emails, nothing real spectacular

Still no luck

Just downloaded "spare parts" app, and looked at "partial wake usage"

weatherbug is almost the whole 100%, nothing else barely even has a blue bar

can I assume fixing that app will solve some of my problems? Its automatic update interval is 1 hour
and for my location its setup as enable my location, I tried to remove that, but it wouldnt allow me, said that "cannotn disable, you must have at least 1 location"

any insight is appreciated.

Sounds like you need a replacement battery and/or replacement phone. At work on any given day, I listen to Last.FM or Pandora for at least 2-3 hours, browse the web quite a bit, text/call regularly, download, update, and use a wide variety of apps. The phone easily lasts 12 hours while usually still being in the green or just approaching yellow by the time I go to bed. I have and use Weatherbug as well, and keep my brightness around 60%, for the record.

Since I know - from personal experience - the phone is capable of much more than you're getting, I would have to assume that it's a bad hardware issue.

I agree. My phone lasts WAY long than 7 hours, and that's with moderate to high usage. Just curious, look at battery usage and see what's using most of the battery (Settings>About Phone>Battery Use)

You do not need to drain Lith-Ion batteries, or condition them. You can even damage Lith-Ion batteries by draining them.

You dont have to believe me, check Google.

Now on to your question.

Its a smart phone. It will drain battery if you do anything. Some apps wont drain it as fast but others will suck battery really fast. I have a G1 and can get through my 6.5 hour work day with out any trouble. I have made it 12 hours but that was without using it.

I recommend that you keep the phone plugged in when ever you can.
