so my phone died within 3 hours of being fully charged...(it was idle the whole time)
i had wifi, bluetooth, gps etc. all turned off & background data disabled.
strange thing is the data icon is still displayed in the notification bar, but only the green arrow is showing... juice defender won't get rid of this either
soo yeah i cant even browse the net on it or anything once i turn everything on unless i connect to wifi

A few things are possible, one being a fringe coverage area and the device constantly attempting to make a network/data connection, draining resources in the process.

Another possibility is a "sync loop," which occurs most often when something such as Facebook and Gmail both try to sync and both fail, repeating the attempts rapidly and without stopping, again, draining resources.

I'd check all syncing and background updating apps, including weather, etc, for configuration.

Sometimes it's necessary to go into various syncing apps in the application manager and clear cache and data both, then reboot.
