Alright AT&T, you're on the clock...

Now, I'm sure this has been brought up before, but seeing as this is my first post, I figured I'd try and give it some new flavor. :D

I'm officially off my contract in August, and am eligible for upgrade in February. AT&T is obviously my carrier... and they obviously are the least desirable of the four major carriers when it comes to Android.

Now, that is not to say there are good phones. The Captivate and Galaxy S are both top of the line specs wise, and offer a perfectly good Android experience. Unfortunately, they don't offer the experience I want, for I am a sick man.

I love HTC's Sense UI. Does that mean I wouldn't root an HTC phone? No... I do love me some vanilla Android too... but, back to my original point... I love sense. I think it's somewhat practical, more efficient than other iterations (such as motoblur... blehhhhh) and, well, it's pretty.

Beyond all that, It's kind of fun, and I just prefer it to anything else out there right now.

Of course, AT&T does offer the Aria, and that's nice. But I want something that's built like the Evo, and will suck a battery dry. :D AKA, I want a 4" screen, 1 ghz or better processor, a nice camera with flash and if possible, a front facing camera (though that last tidbit is not necessary).

AT&T needs to give me SOMETHING. A leak of an edge that sort of resembles a phone... maybe, some kind of text based conformation, SOME.THING. That will confirm an evo-like device. Verizon is getting one... and I hate verizon, but if I have to I'll go there. If I have to go to Sprint, I'll go to Sprint. I want a phone like the Evo or better, and I'm tired of AT&T not throwing me a bone.

You're on the clock AT&T. Come August, if I don't get an Evo-like device, I will not be supporting big blue!

/end rant

Hi. :D

Supposedly by February we will have dual core devices.

If at&t doesn't have something awesome involving two cores 4" screen and an optional cappuccino machine attached to it.

I will be disappointed.. Can't say I will leave.. family plans are a *****

However, lets be real.. at&t is so disconnected its not even funny.

Indeed. Unfortunately, I've noticed that in the Philadelphia AT&T really has some of the best service. I have an iPhone currently, the 3GS, and it performs very well from a network and data standpoints.

I never drop calls, and I never notice any kind of sluggish activity, except when in certain areas that do not allow cellphone towers at all in their townships (yep, places still do this, even in greater Philadelphia).

I'd like to stay with them if possible as I just feel comfortable with their service in this area. If I went to VZW, I'd do it based on the premise that LTE will change service in this area. I don't know how possible that is, but we will have to see.

I really hope by Feb, they will have dual-core, HTC-made Android devices.

If you are talking about the Motorola Olympus, according to what I have read it will be announced January 5th and out by late January. Then there was this "slip" on an ATT facebook page saying it would be out December or January, Att is now saying it was an "erronious post and they have no idea about the phone".

That could be it. I haven't followed it to carefully.

Oh well.. I doubt apple would let at&t get a dual core at this rate anyway.

I am pretty sure it is, since it the only dual core rumored to att that I have read about. The Motorola Olympus is the code name for ATT and Etna is the Verizon version.

Except that they are killing their exclusivity, so ATT is going to play the field or at least try to make apple jealous with the Olympus.

It might not be that apple has veto power in itself.

Why worry about anyone else if apple is payign you enough?

Just about everyone out there knows apple sells EVERYTHING at a huge profit margin..

I'm sure they line at&t pockets a little bit better than other manufacturers.. so why should at&t care about anything else?

That would just mean more work for at&t.. you know actually having to deal with other os's when it seems like a lot of their fans only want iphone anyway...

I don't think apple needs veto power.

Given that logic At&t is an astounding mix of greed, and lazy.

Ha! Could not have said it better myself.

I meant figuratively. I don't know why but, I thought CES was tomorrow at the time.

Seeing as I am not going to CES I won't be able to p hysically see the device until its in my hands from a retail shop.

With that said.. if what I have heard about battery life is true, I am probably going to get it.
