A while back i managed to break my charge/sync cable that came with the phone. i bought a new one from amazon but was only a charge cable NOT a sync cable. Also not an official htc product. charged phone fine for a couple of months. The last few days my phone has started charging very slowly. could this be due to buying a cheap alternative to htc's cable or a phone issue? any replies would be grateful.

Turns out its the cable. Borrowed a official htc sync cable and charged fine. If anyone knows where I can get a decent one from can you let me know! Thanks

The HTC cables are basically micro USB cables but because USB is only rated to 500ma and these phones charge at 1000ma they have larger conductors than is strictly necessary for a USB cable. This means buying non genuine HTC cables for use with the standard charger is a bit of a lottery. Some work better than others dependant on the size and quality of the conductors. They should all work to some degree they just won't all give the full 1000ma charge rate. Some don't even manage the full 500ma on USB.
