I'm Back

After several months I am back with a HTC HERO!

I upgraded to an EPIC 4g.
Returned it and got an iPhone 4.
Sold it and purchased an Samsung Focus.
Sold it and purchased another hero!

Feels good to be back, waiting for sprint to port my number so I can root and install some custom froyo roms!

You went with 2 Samsung phones. That's the problem right there. Something tells me that if you went with an EVO, you wouldn't be back with a Hero. That's being said, if someone forced be to upgrade now, my choice besides the EVO would be the LG Optimus S. Its like a Hero, form factor and everything, but with a little more power under the hood. No Samsung. I'm completely done with their garbage phones.

FWIW, I used to say that too.... until I actually got an Epic. I honestly don't believe that it's the same company.

The 10 dollar fee pissed me off enough to ditch the epic.
Realizing that the I was paying 30 more dollars a month for a phone that couldn't make calls made me sell the iPhone.
Realizing that I was STILL paying 30 more dollars a month and that Winphone7 is still in its infancy drove me away from the Focus.

I tried to purchase an EVO, but the ESN was bad so I purchased this hero.

Have I missed anything? How stable are the froyo releases?

Welcome back to the family. That is a pretty amazingly chain of buying and selling to arrive back here.

There is nothing like the feeling of returning to something familiar and cherished. I am glad you are happy with your decision.

Jaybobs CM6 Builds are good. CM6 Just put out their Final release.

AND AOSP just released a Beta - GingerBread.....Very exciting stuff for the hero!

The Sprint LG Optimus S does have a CPU that is easily overclocked to great performance gains, I agree. It also has the whole stock Android 2.2 pre-installed going for it.

While the ROM cooking for the Sprint LG Optimus S is still in its infancy, I can see that it is heating up pretty fast. It could be a good successor to the Sprint HTC Hero.

That is the rom I currently have installed, and it is blazing. Pretty amazing stuff.
