Root Apex Question?

I installed Apex for 2.2.1 and loved it until I found out Quickoffice would not work. Every type of file i tried to open it would say unable to read file. I went read the forum about Steven58 restoring the hotspot so I tried the same and deleted all the quickoffice files I could find with root explorer and installed the apk in the terminal emulator but to no avail. I loved everything about Apex vs. Tranquility which is what I used before but Quickoffice is a deal breaker since I use it for business. Any thoughts from you fine men and women?

I couldn't get quick office to work either. I'm using free office now but it might only be a viewer.

A viewer is better than nothing but I'm hoping Fab in his infinite wisdom may have some trick up his sleeve.

I actually had this problem with QuickOffice on VZW Official OTA 2.2. I installed Docs 2 go from Data Viz (the free app) and it worked like a charm on 2003 and 2007 files I was trying to view and being it's for work bought the app.

I just checked as well and had the same problem. I had a copy of the .apk on my SD card so I used TB to uninstall QuickOffice and then moved this to the root of my SD card and then in TU I did

SU
install QuickOffice.apk

once installed it worked just fine for me.

Crap, it will not let me attach it, I am getting ready to leave work so I will try it again later tonight.

It's because that QuickOffice in Apex 1.2 is super compressed :/

Must have broken it. I'll whip up an update.zip to fix it tonight, just gimme a lil bit, trying to fix the gingerbread keyboard at the moment!

Sorry I still can not get it to upload to here, wonder if it is too big. I know this was in the 2.2 rar file that I downloaded awhile back from a link on here. It had all the OTA 2.2 files.

Looks like Fab will be able to help with this as well. He does a great job!

You are a prince and a gentleman Fab. I love you rom compared to the rest that I've tried its just I'm a cheap bastard and don't want to pay for an app that does the same thing that a free app does that comes on the phone. And take your time sir I'm making it through with this free viewer I found but it would be nice to edit
