Hey everyone in case you didnt already know there is a new Angry Birds Available for us on the Market now.

It is called Angry Birds Seasons

It basically is around 70 new levels. Some are set in a Halloween theme and others are in a festive Christmas theme.

Sounds like you may be running a Stock Ally

The only way you can run Angry Birds with any amount of smoothness and no crashing is to Over Clock your device.

Simply install the Over Clock zip by Drellisdee through Recovery.
Then you will need to have a program called Set CPU

Set the Mhz to at least 729 and the game will run very smoothe.
if your one of the lucky ones that can OC to 787 then most likely the game will run flawlessly.

That's simply not true. I play Angry Birds every day on my Ally. It's not OC'd. It's running the stock V8 ROM, albeit rooted with some of my own personal tweaks, but it is not overclocked. And Angry Birds runs smooth as silk with no hiccups or lag. My 6-year old nephew and I played it for about 1/2 hour last week with no issues what-so-ever and that was the longest I ever played in one sitting.

Sorry to disagree with you, but I don't like to see false information given out.

I'll have to agree, I've never any issue running Angry Birds on a stock un-rooted Ally. if your not in a good internet reception area to download the adds in the game (or even if you are) you may want to try putting the phone in airplane mode before playing to disable the adds. Just don't forget to take it off airplane mode when your done. If your phone crashes a lot anyway maybe your SD Card is bad?

Well Neither do I. That was my experience. And to the best of my knowledge it was true. If you have new Information on these "tweaks"
please share them so that everyone can benefit your Knowledge.

I am not sure but its my understanding that the V8 Rom is not actually a Stock Rom. If memory serves people were flashing to this and taking their Recoveries off and unrooting trying to get the OTA updates. However they were unsuccseful because of the V8 Rom.
I belive that is correct. Maybe you have info on that as well.

That is not correct. A v8 rom was simply slang to refer to the v8 ota update the ally received. There were rooted deodexed roms based off v8, velocity .2 was one for example. Since then there were vzb and now vzc updates. The ally released with v6.

As for angry birds, I haven't had issues running it stock either. Perhaps a bit choppy sometimes, though not un-usable.

I believe that was the original issue that was being had, it was choppy and for that user it was closing as well. Thats why I overclocked mine and it fixed the issue.

It is obvious that Drellisdee had a "stock" Rom cooked up to flash in order to take VZB... however it somehow was not stock. So he found out and pulled it.

I always give answers to the best of my knowledge and try to help the community. As always I have been wrong in the past I will be wrong in the future.
Just if you have the correct Info Please pass this along.... Maybe in the nicest way possible. Were all here to learn and have a happy home in the Ally community.

Well in my personal experience i could not play angry birds on stock or a custom rom. No matter what it lagged. Overclocking nor blocking ad's helped. So afaik i dont consider it false information but rather an alternative as i've read people have had better results with angry birds when being overclocked while some didn't need to be.

Your input has always been valuable to me.

On my phone I can only Over Clock to 729 without a Kernal Panic every other hour. Others can Overclock to 787, 806. (you lucky devils)

Maybe this is why I had to Over Clock to make it work while others dont.
This is just conjecture though. I really have no idea why it would be different from ally to ally but apparently it is.

In our case this isn't the case. Our phone has a specific processor. What it is - manufacturing a cpu is very precise work, and the slighest error (1nm) can cause a problem, with that in mind, a "perfect" ally could prob pass 900mhz stable - but thats in a perfect world. most are lucky to oc to 650+

THis is how it is with any cpu - the quality of the die (the actual processor on a silicon chip) depends as much as the stable power supply - a bad battery can cause a phone to have performance problems and not be able to oc as well too.

I just revisited this thread and read it again because I am now seeing intermittent lag in Angry Birds. I have not dared to venture into OC-ing yet, as it does present one more variable to the equation of "what is wrong now?" when something malfunctions.

I have found that 'most' of the time I can shut down the game and (using ATK) stop the stuff running in the background (varies from 2-14 apps) and then restart the game and it will stop lagging. But sometimes that doesn't help. I have tried using Airplane Mode too, but can't really say that helps either. When it does happen sometimes the lagging is sporadic, as in where a bird will launch in a slow,choppy manner and then suddenly speed up and smooth out (usually at the worst opportune time when trying to trigger an explosion or burst of speed from the bird, causing me to miscalculate).

But it sometimes seems to 'come and go' as I continue trying to play. This makes me think it is actually stuff starting and stopping in the background that is causing the lag, just like we see on PCs sometimes when the HD will grind away for a few seconds before what we are expecting actually happens on the screen. Is there a utility which can log the CPU percentage of use on the Ally which I could try running in the background while the game plays? I'd like to see if it is maxing out during those lag times (something like Task Manager can do in Windows where it shows the CPU usage)?
