Questions before buying Droid 2 global

I just got a D2G came from a Original Droid - Battery life is actually pretty decent after 2 days of good calibration (Letting is drain then charging all the way to 100%). Im at 50% at 8pm, took it off the charger at 8am and used the gps for a while, the wifi a few times, couple shorts calls, and played some music off of it. Today is the best day so far in how long it lasted. First few days sucked. Now its getting better, just like the original droid did. Hope that helps, but as always, this is just my experience yours may vary.

I also game from an original Droid and got the D2G about a week ago. Battery life seems to be about the same as my og droid, possibly a little shorter but not by much. I can easily get a full day out of it with normal usage. Getting only 4-8 hours definitely indicates that something is wrong with the phone or some app on the phone draining your battery.
So in summary, I can easily get 13 hours out of the phone with roughly an hour of phone calls, dozens of texts, and some moderate internet searching. If I barely use it all day, I can get about 24 hours of uptime but then again, that's not using it a whole lot. Just my experiences.

Yeah, I'm pretty convinced I have a bad phone and/or battery. This seems to be out of the norm for the phone from what I've read. If I could get 12 hours out of it with average use I'd be happy, that'd get me to work and home.

Are you predominately in an area of low/no signal? If so, that's at least "part", if not "all" of your problem.

My fully charged Droid 1 would drain in 4 hours, when I'm at my mom's house, where I only get between 0-1 bars. At "my house" 2 miles away, I get full bars, and it would last 24hrs+.

No, I'm smack dab in the middle of a major metro area, there's a cell tower not too far from where I work because I have full bars there, and at home it varies between full bars and full minus one bar.

I'm going to take my phone back this weekend and get another D2G and/or another battery. It definitely is getting worse. I took it off the charger at 4pm at 100%, kept everything off and didn't touch it again until 6:30pm and I had the 5% battery warning on it. To drain 95% in 2 1/2 hours is DEFINITELY not normal.
