Tasker for N00bs

I'm in dire need of help with Tasker. I paid for the full version a few months ago, but since then I have only set up a couple basic tasks (airplane mode at night, vibrate/silent mode at work). I have perused the tasker website, but I seem to be overwhelmed by the complexity of most of the "intermediate" and "advanced" tasks. Can someone give me some tasks in very easy to understand (i.e. step 1, 2, 3) format? I don't get all the "%#%" jargon or whatever it says ...maybe post some easy steps to the most commonly used/convenient tasks.

Ok, it's kind of like this.

I have a pencil and a paper. What kinds of things can I draw with that?


Well.... almost anything!

Tasker is the same way. It really depends on how creative you are, and how much time you want to spend doing it.


Look at the wikis on the website, they will give you some ideas about what kinds of things people have done already.

Let us know what you want to do, and we can walk you through the specific steps.


However, what you are asking for (a comprehensive step by step guide to every thing that is possible with Tasker) is an impossible task. The best resource is the Tasker website and the Tasker support group.

Speaking of which...why are you posting here instead of in the official Tasker forums??
