A quote from the Consumer Reports article:

"AT&T is now the worst carrier

AT&T was the only carrier with scores that dropped significantly in our satisfaction survey of Consumer Reports readers. AT&T is now positioned in last place overall and in almost every market we rate.

Verizon Wireless is no longer the clear top dog in overall satisfaction with our subscribers, a position it held in most years since 2003. This year, the carrier that respondents were most satisfied with, at least for service under a contract, was U.S. Cellular. It serves 26 states, half of them in the Midwest, and is new to our Ratings. Sprint has pulled even in overall satisfaction with Verizon, and T-Mobile is close behind. Two or even three of those top carriers are statistically tied in satisfaction in a majority of the 23 cities in which we rated service. Among no-contract carriers, Consumer Cellular scored highest for satisfaction."

Consumer Reports rated AT&T the WORST cellphone company based on customer complaints and lousy 3G coverage (I bet you don't hear that on their commercials!)

After Verizon get's the iPhone, AT&T will experience a MASS EXODUS to Verizon! They'll have guys holding signs on the side of the road saying "Closeout deals - Going out of Business" soon! HA!

I HATE AT&T! Serves them right...

Same here use to be with att and left about a year ago for Verizon and I thought all cellphone sounded like like making long distance call in the 70' s. I have been more happy with Verizon. In one year than I have like 10 years with att/ Cingular. Plus with the other cell company starting up 4G network and att still hasn't have a big 3g service.

I find it funny that ATT has the lowest customer rating, but many of the manufacturers keep throwing their latest and greatest phones at the network (ipone4, BB Torch, WinMo7, etc.) I realize that ATT is probably giving massive kickbacks or other enticements to get the phones, which means that we have to suffer if we want to try any of these phones.

I started out on ATT in the 90's and migrated to Sprint because of poor customer service. I left Sprint for the same issues and came to Verizon. Haven't looked back since...

The only good thing out of att is rollover

yeah this is a great thing, me and my wife were considering going to sprint due to service issues but in the past month they have had 3G pumped out all over. we pay for seven hundred shared minutes but between our microcell and rollover we dont even touch our minutes anymore. In upstate N.Y. by us Verizon has pretty good coverage but not good enough to pay the extra 40 dollars a month for pretty much the same plan we already have. I will say that data on my brother in-laws Droid is a little faster but not that much.

I will give AT&T props for one thing, they will warranty and exchange and replace and discount and cut slack and let you pay your bill two months late just to keep you as a customer.:D

Sprint is not awesome at all. I had to haggle about an activation fee they charge in store but not on their website. They issue me a precash card for a rebate? That thing is useless, thanks for stealing that extra 100 dollars.

All of the carriers do the debit cards for rebates now. Just apply the balance to your bill online and it's like you magically have $100 more in your checking account since you don't have to pay that now.
