Root nonsensikal 15.2?

I just flashed it and it seems OK to me so far. I came from xtrROM 4.6. However, I do have a few things that aren't right and since this is my first 2.2 based ROM, I thought I'd ask here.

1) My SD card doesn't mount. It only tells me that it wants for format it. Why is this? How can I mount my SD card? I have it backed up from about a month ago, so if I lose it, I can get the data back.

2) The notification bar is really dark. How do I lighten it? When I bring down the status bar, I can't even read it.

3) I don't see the GMail application anywhere. I read that there's a GApps package and I just downloaded it. However, since I can't get to my SD card, how do I put it on there to flash it?

Those are the major ones so far. I've heard a lot of good things about Nonsensikal, so I'd like to give it a good go and see how it works for me.

I'll start this by saying that I don't use Nonsensikal, but I have in the past.

Did you have it partitioned for apps2sd? If so, you're going to have to undo all of that and make the SD card a single partition. Follow the steps that you used to partition the card (in Recovery, there is a menu option to create an ext2 partition - choose that and choose 0 for both the size of the partition and the size of the swap partition. This will wipe your SD card completely, so you'll need to back it up and then copy files back afterward.)

2) The notification bar is really dark. How do I lighten it? When I bring down the status bar, I can't even read it.

It sounds like you downloaded the black & blue themed version. Go back and download the vanilla theme instead.

As far as I know, Nonsensikal comes with the Google apps, including gmail, built-in. But, again, flash the vanilla version. Hopefully you'll be all set.

That's probably why it's not there - because Google now puts gmail in the market.

You have to reformat your card as a single FAT32 partition.

Dig around in menu > settings > cyanogenmod settings, you'll find that you have a great deal of control over the notification bar colors.

I suspect the reason it won't recognize your SD card is because you once formatted it for apps2sd for a 2.1 ROM, giving it an Ext partition which a 2.2 ROM won't tolerate (I somewhat surprised that it even boots up).
To remove the partition boot into recovery and 'create' an ext partition where both sizes are 0k (zero). Doing this WILL delete all data on your SD card, so make sure you're backup is current.

If you have the ability to do this, do you have an sd card reader on your computer? I just took the card out of the phone and stuck it directly in my computer and formatted it on there.

As soon as I sent my last reply, I was able to scroll the trackball down to 0 and 0 as was suggested. Now my OS sees it and mounted it properly. I'm copying everything back that I need now.

Great, glad it worked out.

FYI, if you decide to go back to xtr I'd suggest you turn on apps2cache but leave apps2sd off. Unless you have LOTS of apps, apps2cache should give you all the free space you need, without having to re-partition your SD card.

Though if you're like me, you'll find enough good things about 2.2 in general, and Nonsensikal in particular, to stick with it for a while.

I only did a dalvik wipe when I flashed it. It is running amazing for me, way better then 13.2 ever did.

Flashed 15.2 yesterday, so far it's working nicely. I like the new 'quiet hours' option in Cyanogen Mod settings. Now the pesky thing won't ding at me at 2 in the morning just because a gmail arrived.

I luv that feature too and so does my husband! LOL! So far, Nonsensikal v15.2 is running EXTREMELY snappy and smoothly. No camera issues. No lag issues when answering calls. No lost calls or text messages. I really love this ROM.

Oh - and the keyboard is AWESOME!

ROM is working great. Only problem i have is that my notifications for launcher pro dock is not working. Anyone else having same problem or know how to fix it. I flashed the rom again and still same problem.
