Hey everyone I just got my new white evo and was wondering if someone couldhelp me root it. I'm new to the android op but love it way better than my iPhone. It has the 0004 hardware and 2.02 bl. If someone has the time to chat with me and help me out I would return the favor or something.

do you have software version 3.30? if you do, you may want to wait a bit before you try to root

3.30 Evo folks -- XDA has a solution for you in the interim; we'll package it up nice and clean when we get a break from work & school.

Hopefully it will be updated soon and we can easily root our phones. Also, be careful what ROM you choose, as some don't have compatible drivers for the camera.

A problem with the current rooting method is that it hoses your camera, 4G and possibly erases your recovery.

I'm waiting for Sprint to announce when the Evo is getting Gingerbread, then waiting for Unrevoked to update their software.
