Help Fast discharge after charging?

My phone took about 3-4 hours to charge from a 45% remaining charge. Once I unplugged it, i took it to the bathroom to play some games while sitting on the throne. I didnt even stay in there 5 minutes and the battery has already dropped 3%. How long can one expect to stay at 100% or even something relative to that?

Basically, it's not charging all the way up to 100% even though the light turns green. The sudden drop is basically it dropping down to where the battery actually is. Some people are able to stop it by plugging the phone back in until it turns green again after it hits maybe 90%. If it bothers you, go ahead and do that. You can also turn the phone off to charge it, unplug it when the light turns green, then plug it back in until it turns green again, then turn it back on.

it seems that there have been a few reviews with the newest launcherpro update where people are saying their battery just drains..anyone else having this happen?

I haven't heard anything about that. If you have spare parts, you can see if it's causing battery drain. I'd say it's probably being caused by something else. Are you seeing quick battery drain beyond the initial drop? Also, 3-4 hours to chargs seems a bit long. How are you charging it?

after the initial drop it doesnt seem to be as drastic. I just installed ATK so Im going to see if maybe this will help too. As far as ATK and it 'killing' the apps, should I have all of them checked (that appear) so that NOTHING is running? or should i leave 'running' the apps i use the most? not exactly sure how this thing is designed to work.

Im charging the phone via usb from my laptop, with the power cord connected to the laptop so its not just running off the battery from the computer

1) You should not use ATK or any task killer. You will probably have worse battery life doing that. Android is not designed like Windows. Whether they're running in the background or not, if you aren't interacting with them, they aren't using system resources. That is, unless, something goes haywire, but that's easy enough to troubleshoot, and is the exception, not the rule. When you use a task killer, the apps you kill will start back up, which uses more system resources than if you let them sit there. If you're rooted, however, you can freeze or completely remove some stuff. See the rooting for dummies thread on what's safe to remove/freeze if you wish to go that route.

2) Ok, it will take longer to charge when you do it through usb. That initial drain happens to a lot people, and is generally avoidable by just plugging the phone back in after the initial drop.
