I am having the exact same issues on my Original Droid as MistaWolfe .....overheating, spontaneous reboots and very poor battery life. I love this ROM and have the most recent update. I scaled back the speed to 500 mhz in SetCPU and it cooled it down a bit, but the battery issues stayed the same. If anyone has the answer to fix this....would love to hear it!

I have no idea what's causing you guys so much grief, but a new build of this ROM should be available in a couple days so hang in there.

I've had this issue as well.....til I did a data wipe twice. I installed after I wiped which gave me issues. After that I wiped and installed again and it worked flawlessly. I think it has something to do with the cache not being fully wiped correctly.

After all MIUI is a ROM like no other....it's different in so many ways. Of course it uses the Android Froyo as a base, but that's about it. Every other feature including the way things are laid out are different from the rest of the other ROMs including UD and CM.

For me it took 2 data wipes with the installation of MIUI in between them for it to work. Right now I'm stuck in between UD 2.4 or MIUI. Everytime I'm on one, I want to go to the other.....

Last night I did a nandroid restore back to my default keyboard (from gingerbread). I then installed a P3 kernel (medium voltage - 250-1000) I did a battery stat reset as well. Temps are running good, but we'll see what happens after the end of the day. I notice the P3 kernel runs smoother (as far as redraws) than the Slayher kernel. I didn't realize P3's new kernels have the interactive governor. I put my minimum at 400 and max at 1000, and I seem to be running pretty smooth. We shall see though...

Does anyone know if miui can add features from CM like under the mobile settings where there is an international / national setting for data roaming as well as a setting for home only, automatic or affiliated networks? These settings help me avoid charges from Mexican roaming when near the border. Any help would be appreciated. I really like this rom otherwise.

Did you wipe your battery stats in clockwork? This helped me quite a bit. Make sure you are fully charged before you do it.

Also, have you tried other kernels? I have tried 6 different ones, and I would say give it at least a day to see which one works best. I am running pretty good with a P3 medium voltage 250-1000, however (as you may have read) I have good luck with kernels for about 24 hours.

EDIT: I would even try kernels that you may have tried in the past but didn't work good with your current ROM. I tried a Chevy the other day (and my phone HATES Chevy kernels) and I at least didn't bootloop. I downloaded every 1000 kernel out the other day and tried them all.

I decided to wipe and reload MIUI. It is still reloading all the apps, but it is running significantly cooler. We will see how the battery stands up. I will wait and see before trying another kernel. If everything works, I may avoid trying to overclock....if that was the cause of the battery issues. We will see...

I would still reset your battery stats when your phone is fully charged. Because I doubt (maybe I'm wrong) you were running a stock kernel before this ROM. Once it's fully charged, unplug, reboot into recovery, plug your phone back in (not sure if this is necessary but I do it) - and reset battery stats through the advanced menu. Reboot. Might help with the battery issue...

I'm having issues with Car Home. It's not included with the ROM and when I restored it with TiBu and ran it, it puts the car dock notification up but the app doesn't actually run. I use the Car Dock a lot. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

Did you also restore Car Home? Car Dock needs Car Home in order to work properly...if you don't have it PM me I can give it to you....

Car Home is an app that actually requires two seperate apks to work properly. You can download Car Home from the Market and it will pop up fine whenever you place your phone in the Car Dock, but to be able to see the icon on your homescreen what you need to do is put a copy of the CarHomeLauncher.apk from any other ROM into /system/app, fix permissions on it to match the rest of /system/app, and reboot and you will then see the Icon to open Car Home without a Car Dock.

A new build was released (0.12.11.0), I updated the OP with the link:

D1-MIUI-0.12.11.0.zip - d1-miui - New miui from 12.11 release. - Project Hosting on Google Code

There's no indication that a wipe is necessary if coming from the last build (0.12.03), but I personally always wipe everything except SD Card in the partitions menu of ClockworkMod Recovery in between every build to adequately test each new build for build specific bugs.

If you choose to wipe I have some tips to offer for backing up some of your data. MyBackup Pro works nicely to back up SMS & MMS, Call Logs, Home Screen layouts, user dictionary, and most system settings. Home Screen layouts can also be saved by backing up data for Launcher2 in Titanium Backup.

Apparently because of the version of the Market app that is included, user apps will not automatically be restored through the Market. One relatively painless way to address this is to sync your apps with AppBrain before installing the new build and then restoring apps through AppBrain after installing the new build. This would only apply if you wiped before installing the new build.

I restored "Car Home 2.2" from TiBu. I guess it's the CarHomeLauncher.apk that I need. I don't suppose I can just download this somewhere. I'd really rather not restore an old nandroid just to get access to it.

You should be able to just pull it out of the /system/app folder of any non-Miui ROM .zip file.

If you have Root Explorer then place the file on your SD Card, Move it into /system/app, then long press it and tap permissions and change the permissions to match the rest of the apps in /system/app. Then reboot and you should be set.

No need to nandroid.

Does this make sense?

also i know its been said by publicanimal but it seems that SetCPU doesnt play well with this rom. I had horrible battery life and high temps and as soon as I got rid of SetCPU and rebooted things settled down, ran smoother, and battery life became so much better. currently running Chevy's ULV 800meg kernel and the phone runs like butter. :D

That's the same kernel I'm using now. You don't really need to do much overclocking with this ROM! 800 MHz seems to be plenty.

I'm sure they can add just about any features from CM. The problem lies in getting that message through to the ROM developers in China who might not weight that very highly on their priorities list at the moment. If those features are particularly compelling for you then you should use CM, at least when you're headed to TJ.... I miss living in SD. I'll be there soon for Xmas, I'm from Encinitas.

Car Home is included in the new release publicanimal posted (0.12.11.0)... don't know if this helps or not.

Oh yeah, that too. I forgot, I always customize the ROM .zips myself by adding ringtones and checking the /system/app folder to add or remove certain apps, but a lot of Google apps that traditionally haven't been part of the Miui ROM were added back in to the latest release, including both CarHome apks.

Personally I flashed back to 12.03.02 after noticing that not all apps are available in the Market on 12.11.0 and that the Calendar app doesn't render properly (a sync icon appears as a bizarre artifact for some reason). I'm hoping fixes for these issues will be available soon, but I don't minding waiting 5-6 days for the newest build to come out.
