In an effort to bring to the forefront all issues regarding the Samsung Behold 2, this thread is a repository for those of us who are experiencing recurrent issues with the phone itself. This thread seeks to inform current and future owners as well as Samsung and T-Mobile, to the problems that are inherent in the Behold 2.

If you are not having an issue with your Behold 2, please do not post to this thread.

Those who are having problems related to the Behold 2's functionality, etc. You are welcome to post those issues here so that others may be aware of these problems and easily locate known issues in one place.

If you are aware of a "fix" for a known issue, please be helpful and point the user to the url where the solution is found.

All of these are on factory stock device. I never got around to experimenting with ROMs.

1) Occasional black-outs (had one just last night as it was charging overnight.) Will not power-up. Requires removing battery and replacing batter.
2) Apps disappear when powering down and with the black-out. I've had them disappear both ways.
3) Phone rebooted in the middle of a phone call. That happened during a call with my doctor, I was extremely irritated.
4) Still have occasional issues with stealth mount/unmount of the microSD card even after I did replace the card with a Class 4 / higher speed stick.

I think that's about it. The barcode scan guys were able to find a workaround for turning the flash off so I suppose that's working now. Very, very disappointed that there is no Android version upgrade path now (from what I've read.)

My Behold 2 Issues are that it:

1. Constantly forces a format of the SD card, causing a recurring loss of data.
2. Runs very hot
3. Spontaneously reboots itself.
4. Has begun to shut itself off from time to time. The only remedy for this has been to remove the battery, replace it and reboot the phone.
5. Changes the screen lock setting no matter what I set it to.
6. Screen freezes so that I cannot perform any functions. The remedy is to reboot.
7. Constantly suspends my calls in limbo, holding the line open but giving me no ability to hear my caller nor can they hear me. Yet the call timer is showing that the call is still in session. When it first began happening the BH2 would eventually return to normalcy and allow the conversation. Now it simply remains in this suspended state until I manually end the call and then reinstate the call.
8. Frequently changes the keyboard that I have chosen and reverts to the Samsung keyboard on its own.
9. When I press Dialer, it used to open the dialpad. Now it frequently opens the Contact list and I must then press dialer AGAIN to get to the dialer.
10. Low ringer volume

Yup,

This just started up with mine today, for those of you that haven't watched the video it shows how the backlight will stay on indefinately and how the lock feature will disable after you make/recieve a call/text/email/etc. Also with this issue if you receive a text message or email the phone will stay unlocked and you'll get to pocket dial your entire phonebook.

I just got a behold 2 a week ago and already having problems.

1) First day, when hooked up to USB to PC the phone shut itself off and won't turn back on, no matter what I do. The only way to turn it back on is to take out the battery and put it back in.

2) Third day, when hook up to charge, the phone shut itself off again, same as above.

3) After sometime the phone just lag but not freeze, the power control widget won't work no matter how many time I press. When I deleted it, I can't put a new one back on. The only way is to reboot.

do a master reset on your phone. if that doesn't work, wait until 48 hours after you did the master reset, then contact tmobile about the issue and let them know you've done the master reset 48 hours prior to contacting them. it's basically the only thing you can do, especially if you're running the stock OTA update from tmobile.

also on a side note, for those who don't already know this, i found out the other day that some of the sim cards will "burn out" due to the fact that they aren't entirely compatible with 3g network. what the situation is, the sim card can only contact the server 90,000 times, and 3g phones over-exceed that limit. only reason why i know this is because my sim card reader took a dump, but they thought it could've been my sim card, and told me that was the reason. just a lil fyi..
