Hey Android Nation,

Just wanted to encourage you all to download the new Home++ Beta version 0.8.0.7.11. I have been mentioning that the developer was working on some new things for it:

1) A new LONG PRESS of the MENU key will bring up a SWITCHER which will post up to your screen THUMBNAIL SCREENSHOTS of each of the screen. Now, you can click to a screen without having to swipe through them. If you are using 5, 6, or 7 screens, this is an easy way to jump to a screen.

2) LONG PRESS of the screen will bring up a menu item called "screens" that will allow you to pick screen preferences, including number of without having to go through key presses of the menu preferences. Quick access to screen preferences.

3) Added a BROWSER button in the Power Strip which is configurable.

4) For Majic users, back button can be configured for quick screen shots.

Post up your comments on these additions and if you notice any bugs. The developer has really worked tirelessly to bring features to Home++ that we really want to have. And it's all free... free people!

Browser icon, sweet! The power bar is getting slightly more customizable by the update.

I can't help but wonder how all of this will be affected when 2.1 drops somewhere down the line. The dev is great for keeping things up to date, ect, so I have little doubt that it would be up and running quickly. I'll kick in again for that cause, certainly.

ninja edit: I just finished playing with it for a bit.

Having the browser on the power strip is nice.

The screen switcher, while sweet, is too slow right now to be useful for me (I only have 4 desktops so I get to where I want fairly quickly). I could see how it would be useful for someone using 7 screens though.

These latest improvements are nice, thanks for the post. I agree that messaging in the scroll bar would be nice, especially if you can configure it to your preferred one like the browser does, so I could default it to Handcent.

I am having trouble finding Home++ in the market none of the QR Code is bringing it up, would sure love to try this one vs Ahome lite. Ive done the space infront of Home++ but nothing and I tried searcing the dev nothing. I cant find a working QR Code either

It's possible that since you're using the Eris, it's not available to you? Scan the QR code I posted. If it doesn't work then your phone may not support it.

Yeah, actually, now that I think of it, OS2.01 is an API level 6 and I think that everything below it is level 5. So, certain things won't work... yet. Don't fret, Eris (and DROID) will likely be getting OS2.1 in January which is level 6, so all of these apps will work for you then. In the meantime, don't worry! You have Sense UI which is nice in and of itself!

Drats lol, I was hopin to have a better home replacement then the default, I am also seeking one for facebook and I hear so many different ones.. Then again I need some different apps all together. I cant wait for the update!

On my droid, the 3G icon and signal strength bar no longer appear on my lower status bar. It still shows the speaker and the batt indicator. I am pretty sure it used to show the 3G and signal strength as shown below, but I cannot figure out how to turn it back on.

Any ideas?
