I've had my new droid for a for a few days, And have been attempting to send a photo text message to some friends, But none have received the picture text..I'm able to send normal text's just fine..Just not photos..I've tried a couple of different applications such as chomp, But still no pictures being sent...Anyone have an idea why this may be? or if there's anything I can do to fix it?...I searched the forum's but no real answers had shown up..
Thanks,
V,

In the default messaging app, I assume you're following these steps:
Compose > Menu button > Attach > Pictures > Select Picture
Does the picture appear at the bottom of your composed MMS? It should have options to View, Replace and Remove to the right of it. If so, you're following the correct procedure.

Could it be an issue on your friend's end? Have you been able to receive MMS? Also, could you have MMS somehow disabled on your VZW account?

Yes, I am following the correct path on how to attach the pictures in the text to be sent, It's just whoever I send them to doesn't receive them. I've tried the stock message app, chomp and the other free SMS app of which I can't think of the name now lol..And yes, I've been able to receive photo texts from other people..I'm just baffled by this.. :::bangs head against keyboard:::

The other free texting app was probably Handcent :)

Did you try attaching any other type of media (video, recorded audio, etc.)?

Also, do you have a photo protection app installed?

Haven't tried to attatch a video, tried doing a sound clip of a short ringtone I created..It wouldn't attach at all...And I don't believe I have any kind of photo protection app installed..

Negitive, No error messages......I'm sorry man, I really with there was more I could tell ya..I really appreciate the efforts in attempting to help me..I just don't know what the darn issue is..Just doesn't make sense! *tear*

Well, it would certainly tick me off if my MMS wasn't working! Did you try the nuclear option - resetting the phone? :D

I just sent one to myself and it worked. Will try the wife shortly. I also sent one to my gmail account.

I did all this through the contact list (in messaging, only select recent contact threads - another annoyance - no contact option in the menu)

I was annoyed to find out that there is no "contacts" option from the camera app when you select "Share". Even worse, when I selected the Gmail icon, it came up with "30 trial version" What the hell is that all about?

Time to add to the "Problems with the droid thread"

5 min, still no email receipt of pic.

yeah I have the same issue...just got my phone this weekend and I can not send text pictures. I can send them to facebook no problem, but not as a text, even if I reduce them to the smallest size available, and even if I'm sending them to another smart phone. I can receive picture texts no problem. It's very annoying.
