Unable to view converter youtube videos on Droid

Hello everyone! I'm new to this and the Droid. I have the Droid by Motorola from Verizon.I'm trying to use a youtube downloader to download youtube videos to my laptop and then convert them to AVI files and drag and drop them to my SD card so that I can view them on my Droid. The problem is the files either don't show up on the card when I attempt to play them on the device if they are in AVI format or if I choose not to change the format only the audio is played by the phone so I can't see any video. Any suggestions? I know this is a possibility because a coworker has done this on a BB Tour. I had him Bluetooth transfer some files and those show and play but the ones I'm attempting to tranfer by dragging and dropping the the files aren't working.Thanks, in advance for any help.

Actually, asynchronism in video & Audio ofter occurs in encoding AVI to other video format ... the reason is for frame bit. For droid, you could try something called android video converter to convert avi to droid-friendly format MP4, it is already optimized for output setting for Motorola droid ...
