Help Speed up this phone

I've got IK4 installed and i'm wondering if there is a way i can make the phone act smoother and fun faster. I haven't rooted it yet. I was thinking of installing the galaxo rom and enable swap, but i don't know if that will speed it up any. I would rather just add the swap on top of the stock UI, but i dont' know if that is possible. Anybody have any suggestoins.

it is possible to add swap without flashing a custom rom
you will need root and you will need to get some software from the market i believe called swapper?
you will have to create a swap partition on a media card (pref class 6)

Andronix posted a good guide somewhere in one of the posts
maybe a good one for me to add to the FAQ's if someone can dig it out

@Rastaman-FB: I think that this will not work so easily. Samsung took swap support out of the kernel in the stock firmware, so you would actually have to compile a new kernel with swap turned on...

I found Galaxo to be smoother than IK4, even without swap enabled.

Ahh I didn't know that. Samsung strike again.
Galaxhero = more that win then.
@ the op. Do some research before you jump to galaxo/galaxhero as while its not hard, you can end up a bit stuck if you do not know what you are doing.

I tried DroidSwap on IK4 - it did not work. It does create the swap file, but fails to make the system use it. Probably because of that issue with kernel compiled without swap support.

i don't have ik4, but you may try creating swap partition and enabling swap on it manually. it may work, or ask drakaz to give you 1.2beta based on ik4

It won't work and there are no tools in standard fw (no "free" to check swap usage, no "parted" to create swap partition of desired size). I'll just wait for final Galaxo release based on IK4.

if you're rooted, just install busybox. few minutes job, and it seems drakaz will skip ik4 galaxo...
