Help Can't connect my phone to my computer

I have been trying for weeks now to connect my phone to my computer to transfer movies, music and pictures. I have tried a few different computers and heres what I have:

Work Laptop Win XP SP2: Tried everything, installed the samsung drivers and still says device not recognized

Personal Laptop Win XP SP3: Tried everything, installed the samsung drivers and still says device not recognized

Fiance's Laptop Win 7: Plug it in and works no problem

Friends Laptop MacBook: Pluged it in and no problems

What am I doing wrong? This is really starting to bug me. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

Did you "mount" the phone to the computer?

Once you pug-in your phone using USB, your phone will display the USB symbol in the notification bar. You have to click on that and "mount" the phone to your computer.

If you did do that, then I'm out of ideas haha. Good luck!

You can also use the Allshare application on the phone, if you have a DLNA enabled media center. Will download all of that info wirelessly. I haven't mounted my phone to any PC to load music from our home network.

How do I figure out whether I have a DLNA router? I am using the wireless router/dsl modem for internet access on my phone.

Here is a brief article that describes what it is. You can house it on your PC, but there are some very affordable options with NAS (Network Accessible Storage), many of which have DLNA enabled software already onboard.

If you don't have that many files to share, you can use Windows Media on your PC to do it, but it will slow down your PC at times if many people in the household are streaming stuff from it.

I already had a Media network set up wirelessly in my house, so I was pleasantly surprised to find allshare and how easy it was to work.
