I just wanted to say thanks to the few people who helped me install the vegan rom. I have flash working, plus the market.

Im not even sure how viewsonic even shipped this device with the software!

Anyways thanks to everyone who helps others out on this forum. Its truly apreciated.

Totally with you on this one! The hardware specs combined with the completely unlocked bootloader and great dev support make it truly awesome. Everyone who has touched mine (sans extreme fanboys) has preferred it to an ipad. The viewing angle on the screen is really the only downside, but that is easily outweighed by price alone IMO.

What's the difference between the ROMs? I have found no screenshots or changelogs on any of them. I intend to flash TnTLite to my daughter's gTab (if I can ever get my hands on it again  ) but am curious as to what the others have to offer.

While TnT lite is still based on viewsonic's stock version of tap'n'tap, VEGAn is built from the stock ROM on the Advent Vega. This gives VEGAn more stock android functionality (ie. using alternate keyboards) while losing some of the viewsonic functions (ie. removing the external SD card without powering down). While both are solid, I hate the stock TnT keyboard so VEGAn is my choice.

Thanks Orange, we're not too keen on the TnT keyboard either so I guess we'll give Vegan a try. Never seen an Advent Vega so I have no idea what I'm getting into... can't be any worse than stock :p

VEGAn comes with the stock froyo keyboard which is miles ahead of the TnT one, but I have found that the gingerbread keyboard here is even better. It only takes up about a third of the screen compared to almost half with the TnT or froyo ones and it is actually easier to type on IMO.

Hey rush...let me know how 4.0 runs? I'm curious to see quadrants also with the dataloop added to TnT.

I have not updated, since happy with TnT Lite 3.14 and the 10.9.8 kernel. My thoughts are the data loop mod is more a placebo than actual performance improvements. Very suspicious due to no apparent impact on battery and no bridge to what operations take advantage of the mod.

That said, fold are reporting even faster PSX performance.......
