Merry Christmas

I say Merry Christmas to celebrate my faith. You say whatever you say to express your faith. We all are happy then. We all are celebrating our individual cultures and beliefs this season. No need to lump them together into a generic non-religious mass in an effort to "please everyone". Merry Christmas and may your new year be great!

So...then you are merely a consumerist? Because you do know that Christmas has nothing to do with Jesus...right? I mean you do know he wasn't born on 12/25...don't you? And he didn't have a tree covered in pretty balls and tinsel. Nor was there a big fat man and reindeer. And he was the only one that got presents...when he was born. Which was not in December.

Just saying...

You really don't get it do you Ruben? It isn't about consumerism or exactly when Jesus was born or being politically correct. At some point in history our forebears chose this date to celebrate the birth of Christ. I don't personally care about their motives for choosing this particular date. All I care about is celebrating His birth. Just like I celebrate my sister's birth every year on December 9th. She wasn't born on that day either but that is the day that my family celebrates her birth. The key word here is CELEBRATE. Long story there about my sister and a side track you don't need to hear about. Hope you had a good day yesterday anyway no matter what religion you chose to celebrate or if you chose not to celebrate at all.

The Catholic Church chose it as a way to steal the faith of the Pagans. Nothing about how we celebrate this holiday has anything to do with religion. Nothing. Not even church services which actually suggest he was born in winter!

And yeah, I celebrate Christmas. I celebrate it for what it is - a consumerist holiday and a Pagan tradition. But I also set aside a day in March to celebrate the *real* Christmas.

I find it sad that you are so offended that someone challenged the idea of your holiday. Perhaps you should consider why that is.
