App to keep screen on?

Is there an app that will keep the screen on when certain apps are in the foreground? For instance, I don't want the screen to lock if I am reading a web page in the browser. I installed an app called Screen On, but it seems to keep the screen on if the app is running at all, not just in the foreground. Thus, my screen never goes off by itself now.

Any thoughts?

I don't know about an app that will do specifically what you want, but I am using a widget called "Screen Mode Widget". It puts an icon on your desktop that will allow you to cycle through three screen modes, Always-On, No-Sleep, and Auto-sleep.

Always on mode does what it says, No-Sleep means the screen will "dim" but not go to sleep (you just touch the screen to wake it up instead of pressing the Menu button on the phone), and Auto-sleep is the usual screen mode, where the screen will dim and then shut off.

You can download an APP called 'Toggle Screen Timeout' free from the market put on your 'Home Screen' then when you want to block 'Screen Timeout' just press this widget first, remembering of course to press it again when finished.

There are also Apps on the Market like 'KeepScreen' which block 'Screen Timeout' when predefined applications are active, also free.

Not positive, but freebie Screebl Lite (no Pro available, to my knowledge) may be your answer. Thankfully, when you first open the app you have an opportunity to check out a video. That explains the how. Bottom-line = it pays attention to screen angle-- like when you're holding to view a web page, etc. Has worked well for me.

(Droid-friendly, even after today's update.)

Keepscreen is exactly what you are looking for.

Once you install it you can pick what apps you want to keep the screen alive. I use it on my Droid to keep the screen alive while listening to Last.fm and media player. This way I can switch tracks while I am driving without having to unlock the screen. When I close either of those programs the screen goes back to normal mode. It really is set and forget.

Plus the dev responds to emails quickly and even put in a feature request I had in two days.

I dnloaded Screen Mode Widget after finding a video about it on YouTube. It doesn't install correctly on my Droid. It's the first app that is not installing. I just dont see it in my list of programs. Is anyone else having this issue?? The program looks like it could be one of the most useful if I could just get it running.
