Root SuperOneClick 2.1 Root :D

guys sorry for the newbie question. I just had my X8 yesterday and had it updated to Eclair 2.1 (build number 2.0.1.A.0.47) and I want to maximize my Android phone.

Im seeing a lot about this "root" thing (super noob here) and im really not sure what this is for. Sorry if this is on the wrong thread. Need your advise guys. :)

Rooting gives you
1. Speed
2. You can install apps to memory card
3. You can have fullproof backup your phone will never get bricked
4. You can remove stock applications

I can't install X8 driver, I can't find .exe on the folder, when I plug the phone and tap install PCcompanion nothing happen too, my pc can't read the phone.

When you Connect the phone tap the first option it will search for hardware when it asks for hardware location direct it to where you've downloaded your drivers
