Market apps not updating?

I was coming on here, to see if this was a problem *I* was having, or if Market broke. I guess the Market is broken. This is a major bummer. I found several apps yesterday, that needed updates, but I don't want to manually find all of the updates.

I may try trackdog... but honestly, I don't have ROOM for more apps... And Market DID have this functionality. I am very disappointed with how little system memory the G1 has, and how you can't install to the SD card.

I know this is NOT ideal for anyone, but something I noticed if you're running out of memory.....

1.Install "MyBackup" from the market to backup your settings.
2. Run a factory reset.
3. Open the market and go to "My Downloads" It should populate a list of everything you had installed prior to the reset. Install them all at once, if you only install a few and go do something else, the "My Downloads" list will lose everything from before the reset that you haven't installed.

I noticed when I had my G1 replaced (problem with screen stuck in landscape mode) that the new unit was able to install many more apps without coming close to running out of room. my theory is that updating all those apps made each app larger than it needed to be, and since the new G1 was only installing the latest version, it had more room.

Alternately you could just uninstall the old version and install the new one. This works easiest if it's a program like Twidroid where there's very little setup (username, password, handful of settings). I have like 41 apps on my phone now and the last one was running low after 20 apps.

I suspect your new G1 didn't have a lot of 'data' associated with the browser. I would go nuts with the 'low memory' warning - I even uninstalled apps, until I realized that the browser had 30+mb in DATA.

Follow these steps instead of using the app manager (that kills bookmarks, etc):

1. Startup browser.
2. Press "Menu"
3. Press "More"
4. Select "Settings"
5. Select: Clear cache, Clear history, Clear all cookie data, Clear form data, and/or Clear password

I've had my phone for a year and just in the last 2 to 3 weeks i haven't been able to update any of my apps. Each time i tried, it said "download unsuccessful" so I finally called my server (t-mobile) today to see why I haven't been able to update my apps through the market. She made me try numerous things, but this finally worked....If your still having troubles, use these steps to see if it works for you as well.
Press menu, select settings. Go to apps and manage applications. press menu again and select "filter." out of the menu options, select ALL.
go back to the list of apps and select the "market" app. there is an "uninstall updates" button. click it. say ok.
once you have selected ok and have uninstalled the updates, go back to your home screen and go to your market app. It'll ask you to agree to terms and license again and accept it. Go to your downloads in the market and every app that hasn't been able to update so far, should show up and say "update available."
Try updating the apps one by one and see if it works for you...it worked for me and I haven't been able to upgrade any apps for 2 to 3 weeks.
Good luck!

I just read this and got atrackdog. Seems like a total fail to me. Each of 3 updatable apps don't work for their own reason.
Flashlight: installed 2.1, new 2.1.000.133994.651
Barely any difference in version number anyway. I hit update from the market, and get application not found. Probably because it's from the Htc hub.
Netflix: installed 1.5.2, new 1.0.1
Hit update from market and the options are open and uninstall. The "new" version number is older than the installed one anyway. Wtf?
Pocket casts: installed 2.8.1, new 3.3
I got this app as a free app of the day from Amazon and I love it. It doesn't show an available update in the amazon AppStore, nor does it even show up in a search for that app. The only thing I find is in the android market, a paid version of this app.

So atrackdog is just for tracking, not updating, anyway? Please tell me there's a better way...
