Why no love for HTC Inspire??

No more of a gimmick than webcams on computers really.

No argument here. I never make my laptop purchasing decisions based on the position/quality of the webcam. In fact, I'd be perfectly fine if it didn't have one. I have no need for it. It doesn't take the place of a real face to face conversation and interaction with someone.

The Inspire is getting very little attention due to the fact that the Atrix's specs blow it out of the water. Not saying that the Inspire isn't impressive in its own right, it just doesn't stack up compared to the Atrix.

Given what limited knowledge we have of the two phones, I'm one of the many people who are more excited over the Atrix than the Inspire. But I'm still going to keep my eye on the Inspire. The reason: HTC has proven to be the company with the most robust products, and best device support. So while the Atrix is amazing on paper, it may end up having some major flaw(s) -- much like the incredibly anticipated, but heavily disappointing Galaxy S line. If that ends up being the case, you can count on the Inspire being the polished, high-end device you can rely on.

Your assessment actually sums up why I will most probably go with the HTC. Especially if I am getting rid of my nexus S at least I know I will be getting update.

I'm really torn. I like the idea that I'll get better support (potentially faster OS roll-out) from HTC. I don't care about front-facing camera so that has no bearing on my ultimate choice but I do love the fingerprint scanner on the Atrix. That actually has me more geeked than the dual-core processing - which will likely be unnoticeable to me anyway...lol. I'm definitely waffling bewteen this and the Atrix.

Well I will say that as geek as the scanner is it will be a gimmicky thing when you lay out the usage from your phones. I also concur that the front facing camera is a non issue. So for me I'm starting to lean Inspire. Better build quality ,nicer UI Andy faster updates. As i probably wont be doing gaming on my phone the dual cores mean nothing to me

Ya - I just like locking my phone and having a quick to p/w protect it without having to punch anything in would make me happy.

I also agree, not going to be gaming so dual-core won;t make a big difference for me. Just like you, my pendulum is swinging the way of the inspire. Having good support for updates is pretty high on my priority list (aside from my essentials).

The battery has to slide inside a little door. Hopefully they make one that will fit.

Well I know the 1750 mAh battery that replaced the evo's stock 1500 was no bigger than the original, so hopefully that will be true here as well. I think even a 1600 mAh battery will be a huge difference and should make a days worth of battery a non-issue.

Skype is going to be a major player in 2011 and video chatting is going to be pushed further to the forefront this year. I think it's gonna be a bigger deal that it was last year. Could be wrong, but now that you can face chat with people on other carriers (thru Skype), I believe it will be a hit.

Don't mean to piss on the Inspire 4G party (got here from another thread) but personally I wouldn't buy a smartphone that doesn't have a FFC at this point. I use my EVO's FFC for group photos & Skype Mobile with Video should make video calls much more popular soon. Additionally video calling & augmented reality are considered to part of Android's future.

If that or dual core handsets don't interest you then AT&T customers certainly deserve more HTC options..

For me a front facing camera doesn't really matter so I rather have the accessability of the HTC openness and their quality. Besides sense kicks motoblurs ass

Sense is an even bigger intrusion that BLUR in my opinion. When I had my Desire, the first thing I did was get rid of Sense UI.

Also, Motorola is the original, they KNOW how to build phones with great RF, cameras and displays. HTC is hit and miss.

Motorola made a living off the RAZR forever. They have been terrible in the modern phone era, until they started really putting all their eggs in Android and the original Droid.
