I have converted from a windows mobile phone to g1, the features i really cant live without are still un available i cant edit microsoft docs.. i can view google docs thats it.

It is very frustrating.. ..

I almost sold my wmobile device but thinking about tagging it along, i really dont want to..

I love the wmobile for
1. updating word and excel docs, and
2. view .pdf's and
3. also i used a nice ebook reader called mobipocket..
4. could use phone to connect me to the internet
5. attaching files to emails.
6. video record

it did find a pdf viewer that semi works not good on performance.

I tried this thing teatherbot to try to connect my laptop through g1 to internet not working..

but someone would make my day if they had a way to
1. update word and excel docs or google docs right from my g1..
2. attach any file to an email (besides the pictures) and can broswe the directories as you do it conviently.

Google Docs question :

Is there a way to invite a non-gmail-account person to share/view a doc?
..... I dont want to publish the doc to the world !!!!

I tried the help files and discussion section of google docs and others seem to have the same problem .... that if you send an invite for sharing then that email must be tied/associated with a gmail account ...

I am a pretty experienced gdoc user.

You can share a doc via, sending as part of an email, pdf, etc. You can also get a private link as indicated with any email being registered, no gmail address required.

If you want them to collaborate they have to have an address though. Which makes sense for tracking changes. (unless you open it up to the world, which you don't want to do.)

I am trying the share again from within "GoogleDocs" and do now notice the check-options for viewing or editing without signing in ... I am testing it on my yahoo.email account ...

Thanks ... will update my findings here ...

EDIT:

the invite was a bit confusing but it just uses the invite(email) as the login and will skip pass the gmail login..
It's not an attachment -- it's stored online at Google Docs. To open this document, just click the link above.

Included in the invite email "---
Note: You'll need to sign into Google with this email address. To use a different email address, just reply to this message and ask me to invite your other one. "

I am just waiting for them to figure out Gdocs mobile for Android (and iPhone). I mean if I have a real browser what do they care if I want to edit using the G1 vs. a desktop.

That would be great.... I tried that this morning and got the big disappointment ... I guess there is no way to have the G1 login without being detected as a mobile ...
