Smarter Docks for MOTOROLA ATRIX - Video

Thanks, great find!

Anyone find it odd that it didn't say Atrix anywhere? I wonder if they are going to rebrand it for another carrier at MWC... did AT&T ever say it was exclusive?

DAMN I wish this phone would just get a release date already! I've been drooling over this one ever since we called it the olympus and then saw pictures from the "flea market" (controlled-leak?) guy.

EDIT: Oh the TITLE of the video has Atrix, but still, I think it's weird that it didn't say atrix at the end.

I think they were more so advertising for the different docks, they may have docks coming out for different phones in the future. This is also Motorola Europe YouTube channel.

There must be some sort of hardware ID in the individual docs so the phone knows where it is? Or its detecting the presence of a keyboard and/or mouse?

Looking at CES demos, when you place it in any dock the atrix pops up the standard android "application chooser" (like when you have multiple browsers installed and you tap a link in an email and it asks you which browser you want to open) to let you pick if you want the entertainment or webtop environments.

I don't think the docks or the atrix have any additional sensing to tell which dock you're in, in fact I think that if you just plug in any mini hdmi cable it will bring up that same dialog. (again based on what I saw from CES vids)

well the airport one is trying to subliminally say you dont need to bring your laptop you have the atrix

Friend of mine tweeted this the other day about that commercial.

If your Motorola cell phone looked like a laptop when it was scanned, you'd get the TSA treatment instead of giving a smug grin #justsayin

Thought that was pretty damn funny.

Anybody else disturbed by some of the comments from user "motorola" in regards to this video on YouTube? I can't say if they are real or not but this person mentions no custom ROMs (locked bootloader?) and release in the next couple of months which still of course doesn't actually answer anything. Very excited about this superphone and WILL wait as long as it takes to get it. Afterall good things come to those who wait...even if it is painful.

I am also disturbed why what user "motorola" said in the comments there. It's sad to see a company with such potential be so snarky and against the power of enthusiast nerds like us. I'm withholding any judgement until we know for sure, but it is starting to look more and more like moto's business as usual trying to stifle people who want to use their phone for more than just the average consumer.
