Who else is excited as I am?

I am so excited for this phone, mainly because It's going to be my first Android phone, if you're going to get this phone why? Personally I'm getting it because of the 1080p HD recording that'll be available, plus that tegra 2 processor will (hopefully) make the experience of using the device a smooth one. I'm hoping to root it also after reading up on it, so what are you guys gonna do?

I am excited that Tmo will likely have a tegra phone, however the Atrix is also a good contender purely spec wise, and it will supposedly get a software update for 1080p recording. However Motorola may have a more locked down phone than LG. One thing Id like to hear is the sound quality of the LG phone, as the main reasons for a unified device like this one are:

phone quality
camera (still and video)
mp3/audio quality
calendar/PIM quality
mapping
4g speed

If it fulfills those roles, then it will be great to be on a relatively cheap network compared to ATT/Verizon.

Yep, I’m every bit as excited as you are. It will also be my first android device. My main reason for changing is my iPhone 3G is starting to show its age. I suppose this is the flip side to Apple rolling out updates all of the time on one hand its great because you get a couple of new features but in the end the phone ends up too slow and you cant go back easily. Apple doesn’t sign old firmware.
I had been waiting in wings for a genuine step forward in android handsets since late Nov last year, when I first looked at the Optimus 2X I was hooked. Lets hope it delivers. I’m in the UK so I have been able to pre order from Expansys UK due to ship (if you can believe it) 21st March.
The Atrix could be a contended but that’s scheduled for May and from what I have read its going to be even more expensive.

I here you. Time travel, world peace it should be able to do it all. And that's before it gets Gingerbread. Ohh and a battery that lasts a week. I'm even excited about the FM radio (how sad is that!)LOL

I think its safe to say your in for a revolution, with or without time travel.

Are you having yours on contract? If so how long? I went for 18 months. I had preorderd one unlocked and was going to get a Tesco SIM but the Vodaphone deals seemed relatively competitive plus free gifts, helps out the old cash flow too.

Should start a separate thread to show what phones you are upgrading from. Mine is a blackjack II unlocked from ATT, so I only have edge and winmo 6.1.

I've ordered mine on a 24 month vodafone contract since im in no rush to upgrade phones, but would like to consider my options in two years time. Good price as well!

It's a very impressive phone but I wouldnt feel comfortable pre-ordering now knowing this is just to first of many to be released.

Well I haven't seen anything really ground breaking that will be better then optimus being released anytime soon. So when this does get released stateside I will be buying it day one.
