Hey Everyone. I've been reading around on this forum & I'm very interested in purchasing the Optimus S. I am currently on my AT&T plan, but my contract is up at the end of this month so I will be switching over to Sprint. This will be my first android smart phone
I have a few questions:
1) Rooting. What are some features that this will give me? Any disadvantages? Is this hard to do?
2) LauncherPro. Once I install this, is there anyway I can switch back to my original screen? What features does this give me? Will this take away Sprint ID?
3) Sprint ID packs. I'm not too interested in having this, however I do want the Sprint TV/Football, etc. and I hear that the only way to get this is to get the Sprint ID pack? Is there anyway I can download this and switch the pack to the blank one? Will it leave the Sprint apps in the app area?
4) What are some suggestions you have for me to do first? Apps I should download?
5) Battery life. What are ways to save it? I want it to last probably 15 hours, but about half of those it would probably be off.
Thank you for answering these in advanced. I know they seem dumb, haah, but I'm completely new to all of this and I want to take advantage of all the "make-the-android-your-own" options.
